A photography student who posed as a babysitter and filmed himself abusing girls has been jailed for life.

Red Saunders, 23, tricked the parents of two girls, aged six and eight, into allowing him to spend hours "playing games" with them.

Saunders, of Merstham in Redhill, Surrey, was told he would have to serve a minimum of eight years in prison for the rape of the eight-year-old.

The Old Bailey judge said Saunders was so dangerous be may never be released.

Saunders was able to get access to children despite being placed on the sex offenders register in 2005.

He pleaded guilty to 24 charges, including raping the eight-year-old girl, sexual assault, inciting children to engage in sexual activity and making and possessing indecent images images of children.

He had taken more than 4,000 videos and photographs of young girls.

Saunders had advertised as a babysitter and abused the two girls after their parents placed adverts on the Gumtree website.

Judge Peter Rook told Saunders: "You are obsessed with young girls.

"You have acted out your sexual fantasies. Your conduct amounts to every parent's nightmare."

Surely people dont just allow random people to look after their kids?! If I needed a babysitter I would use someone I knew or a family member (though this doesnt always eliminate the risks or anything I know) and if I couldnt do that amd had to employ someone I would ask for a crb check.

That said, this story is utterly heartbreaking. Those poors kids, and parents

It is heartbreaking, he was obviously charming, when will people learned paedophiles don't have it tattoed on their foreheads and are rarely seen wearing macs and milk bottle thick glasses.

Unfortunately some people act like sheep and dont seem to have the sense they were born with. If I was looking for a babysitter this is the last thing I would do.
