Default Should the Simpsons be axed?

It's been debated by many - should the Simpsons be axed? What with newer, wittier shows like Family Guy and American Dad growing in popularity should they give it a rest now so it can go out with some dignity?

Hhmmm

the story lines are so random nowadays
and it's not really very funny at all

i think they just need some good new ideas and it might come together again

also, Lisa and Bart do NOT act 8 and 10. more like 14 and 16

Its been on since like, the 80's!? It can't end yet! and its not going to - they've already got another movie in the pipeline.

Theres still a lot of demand for the Simpsons's aswell, its still very popular.

It just feels like they are milking it for all it's worth rather than spending time on producing a great script. Lets face it - the movie was a huge let down, it was obvious they spent more time on fancy animations then they did on a decent script and the second one is sure to be even worse!

I agree with Sia, the storylines are so random and not funny anymore but I think they should give it a few more seasons.

The storylines have gone downhill over the last couple of series but there's still episode's that I enjoy, so I'd rather it didn't get axed.

Wouldnt be too bothered if it did, I can watch simpsons and now and again it makes me giggle but its not as funny in my opinion as Family guy and family guy has taken over simpsons ALOT for me. Its like the new simpsons, I love it!

Think its time for the simpsons to move over

But in all fairness for as long as there are people willing to buy dvd's and watch their shows there are going to be people making them!
