no it wouldn't the whole is only big enough to take like 3/4 of the cup so the top bit keeps the lid on

Not all heat rises it also radiates so it would warm the drink to an extent and the food is touching the drink so it would also conduct

Heat transfers from the warmer medium to the colder medium by conduction.
