This situation in Beirut is making my blood boil!!!!
Is there anyone hear who can justify what the israeli's are doing?? I'm not a fan of Hizbollah by any means, there indiscriminant rocket attacks on Israel are wholly unaceptble, but the Israeli's are just as bad if not worse.. I'm all for retaliation.. but there heavy handed bombing of cilivian area's is sickening. And Tony Blair seems to be giving them the green light to carry on. Israel said that we'd do the same in that situation, but i dont recall us bombing housing estates in Dublin and Belfast after IRA attacks on the UK. .. It's like using a cricket bat to hit a wasp's nest after you've been stung! .. it's just making the situation worse! I am getting sooooooooo pissed off with Israel's attitude.. you cannot defeat terrorism with military force. |

The bombing of civilians is wrong but Israel are probably just trying to get Lebanon to back down by using the force that Lebanon don't have; fancy missiles (in comparison to Lebanon's anyhow).

those fancy missles are'nt that fancy .. they call them SMART bombs,.. but they are anything but smart!
They will never wipe out Hezbollah by military means. In that Speilberg film Munich, the Israeli's used stealth to liquidate the enemy. 50% of the people they have killed in the last week have been children.. thats what's pissing me off. |

War in general is stupid. It does nothing but create hate, we're pretty much at war with Iraq, and it's unlikely we'll ever be at one with Iraq. Perfect example of how stupid war is..
it's funny how they found Sadame Hussein, they found him discreetly by a small group of soldiers. Bombing the whole country was hardly going to capture him, wasn't it? They just want Iraq to surrender so they can have all of his oil. Bush is a moron, and Blair is his stupid Puppet. |

I can understand both sides. Israel's army are 'in theory' fighting terrorism by attacking hizbollah. Hizbollah are then fighting the Israeli army. It just so happens that in war the main victims are civilians - on both sides.

It makes me want to weep.
Not only is bombing civilians over-the-top and wrong but it is counter-productive. Terrorists (or guerillas, whatever you want to call them) can't be beaten by bombing them... they just hide away and disappear into the population until the bombing is over. Then they probably get new recruits and come back stronger than before. |

All the current conflict in the Middle East will produce is more terrorists to fight the western nations of the world. Israel won't defeat Hizbollah although it might weaken it in the short term. However in the long term Hizbollah will be stronger than when Israel started this major conflict. Nothing can be achieved by this conflict. The only way for Israel to achieve their aim using bombs would be use weapons of mass destruction, since it would be the only to make sure they got all the people they were after.

It's the same old excuses and lies that are used to justify the murder and chaos that go on justifing the same excuses and lies.
There is no right side in the conflict. The "side" that should feel more ashamed are the elected politicians in Lebenon that allowed Hizbollah to get a foothold in the south of the country and haven't spoken out against their country men who support the regimes mentality. What a strange situation that when a terrorist organisation is elected democratically that country goes bankrupt and the incursions into Israel are stopped. The government and council workers aren't paid and the economy goes into a downturn, fueled by the Israeli blockades of goods coming into and out of Palestine. Fast forward a handful of weeks and international aid is flown into Palestine. Workers are paid and there's cash in the ATMs. Is it a coincidence that around a week to ten days of that event the incursions are made resulting in the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers. Israel retaliates with force and for practical purposes levels the country. Cue, the attacks from Lebanon by Hizbollah. So Israel are fighting the same war from two fronts. The most reported events are between Israel and Hizbollah. What is Pallestine doing to aid or hinder their neighbouring countries. What happens if the conflict spreads into other countries? It is only a matter of time. When NATO or UN forces appear on the scene who will attack who? How many losses are the western governments prepared to take when one or two nuclear missiles in certain cities will halt any threat for decades to come. Drastic situations require drastic measures. Why risk human lives, and money and time when the entire region could be taken back to the stone age and started over with Western ideology from scratch. |
