Default Big Brother refuses to explain nominations - Article

Quote:
Exclusive: Big Brother refuses to explain nominations

Big Brother 2013 bosses have refused to explain why Jackie Travers and Jack and Joe Glenny are facing this week’s eviction after fans raised questions over this week’s nominations.

On Monday, it was announced that Callum, Dexter, Gina, Jackie and the twins had recieved the most nominations this week and would therefore go up for the public vote.

During last night’s highlights show, it was then revealed that Callum had recieved seven votes, while Dexter and Gina had four each, Jack and Joe had three, and Jackie had two.

This prompted much confusion among viewers, as the Big Brother rules traditionally dictate that only the two or more housemates with the most nominations should face the following eviction. If this had been the case, only Callum, Dexter and Gina would be up this week.

So far, there has been no explicit confirmation of any changes to this rule.

However, when approached by bbspy for an explanation earlier today, a show spokesperson simply said: “The nomination process is at Big Brother’s discretion so can change accordingly.”

This stock response will no doubt add fuel to existing online speculation that the producers put forward extra housemates for the vote in an attempt to save Dexter and Gina, who are widely regarded as two of the series’ most entertaining housemates.

Gina is currently top of the bbspy Popularity Poll on 43.5%, with Dexter second at 19.5%.

The next live eviction show airs this Friday at 9.00pm on Channel 5.

They have obviously been in touch with our producers. They have done this for 5-6 seasons. (Changing the amount of HM)

Every single week, there was a different amount of nominees. Every freaking week. One week it was 4, the other 5, the other 2, the other 8 and so on. There never was a clear rule, after season 3.

Cant blame them for not wanting the favourites from the outside to go tbh.

Fans wouldn't want the best housemates to go either.

BB can change the rules at any time so any argument against them can be shot down in that simple phrase.

Exactly. Expect the unexpected and all that. No one's entitled to not be up for eviction. BB could put them all up if they wanted to -- or put all the guys up one week and all the women up the next. They can make the rules as arbitrary and "unfair" and subject to change as they want.

if they had of just kept vote to save, then none of this interference would be needed.
its all so silly.

If there was just the 3 up dex, gina and callum then callum would definitely go. Im thrilled that the vole twins and Jackie are up again hopefully its a double and Jackie and the twins will go.
