Default Having a clear out

Are you good at clearing stuff out or are you a sentimental hoarder? My mum's got this demonic passion for throwing stuff out she's spent the last hour going through the many DVDs in the house and throwing out stuff that nobody would want and picking out DVDs that she'd never watch again but reckons she could trade in somewhere... her next target is the collection of books that are kept in my brother's room (used to be my room)... most of those books are mine like a lot of young adult stuff that I wouldn't read again but I loved them and wouldn't want to throw them away... how did she produce such a sentimental hoarder?!?

Love getting rid of stuff I don't need, moving on, do it regularly as a stress reliever

Live quite a minimalistic life

I have a couple of boxes in my cupboard full of important stuff from the past though

I do hoard stuff but only to a certain point, when it starts getting ridiculous I have a massive purge and I'm absolutely ruthless.

Beware, she'll be doing the Ne'erday "clean the house from top to bottom" bit next!

Well just today I have been throwing away old clothes and I'm thinking about scanning all my Uni work onto a hard drive and getting rid of all of that. I've had enough of my small room being cluttered...

I'm forever bickering with her because she's decided to rearrange the cupboards and drawers and suddenly the glasses and mugs have migrated to the other side of the room or she's emptied my chest of drawers and hidden my socks in like a treasure chest at the bottom of the North Sea

She's saying she needs room for her camera stuff which is true but I'm like well can we not get rid of some of the stuff in the wardrobes in your room and she's like THAT'S NOT THE POINT the book cupboard is an ideal space for her stuff but it's like... my brother doesn't care because he doesn't read and he claimed my bedroom when I moved out and the bedroom I sleep in when I'm at home there's literally only room for a bed and a chest of drawers so they can't go in my room... I might sort my DVD collection out, move everything downstairs and then use those shelves for books I want to save...

She nearly chucked out a book that my granny (dad's mum) gave me for my birthday just two days before she died... this was when I was away at uni, thank God my dad noticed and stopped her! Then I was like wtf you've been throwing out books and didn't ask me first?! Argh I need to stop her!! Haha!

..I'm not really much of a hoarder, I'm quite ruthless about 'stuff'..my OH does hoard things though and he's quite messy, so I just don't go in those places where he hoards things otherwise it would drive me crazy...
