Default Best and worst internet/tv/phone providers?

From your experience obviously..

Best for me by a mile has gotta be sky. More expensive than the rest it seems but customer service is excellent and internet doesn't randomly go off or be capped

Worst would have to be BT. They tried ripping me off ~£300..gave me a bill for that amount and refused to give an itemized one when I informed them that there was no way on earth that I owed that much. Reckoned they would send me itemized bill AFTER I paid the £300.

Also had loads of problems with them cutting internet off (technical error was always the excuse) and seemed unable to speak to anyone who knew anything about anything...for example internet died one day, and the person I spoke to suggested changing my saved homepage? Despite no pages working at all..changed saved homepage wont bloody work as I told them, and they said to try it anyway

I would say sky is best, been with them for years although they are expensive plus my internet is awful since I moved because we don't have broadband in this area

But it's not sky's fault.

don't get tivo. the box is so slow and difficult to control I like virgin media's broadband, it's super-fast, but their TV services are abysmal and so overpriced

i think we're just gonna switch back to sky...

i was on talktalk at uni (just for the internet, we didn't bother with a phone line/tv)... that was OK too, but we were in a busy city so you'd expect it to be... they don't have great coverage in rural areas, i find

Virgin was the worst for me,We had such a bad experience with them, never again,We did have BT,I thought their broadband infinity was excellent but didn't like the TV format,so we went back to SKY who we had been with for a few years earlier, and we like that better now.

Virgin are horrid. (gotta be careful because our contract doesn't end for another year so don't want them stopping the internet, love your virgin media xxxx) they didn't send a bill one month and made the next bill triple because we missed it :S and then kept putting the price of the contract up each month. it's £50 a month just for tv and internet is kinda expensive too. considering the internet can be so slow sometimes and it's basic tv... I agree with Shaun, the Tivo box isn't that good, so slow and it fills up quickly with all theses suggested shows that no one in my house watches. It records hours of bid tv and qvc..... useless.

For the record, virgin also tried to rip me off (though not to the extent of BT) but I chose BT as worst above them as we had no end of problems with the services aswell as the ripoff side of it..whereas virgins services were ok, only problem really was being unable to speak to people I could understand on the phonelines

Virgin is ****e, the box is sluggish and the internet only extends to 30cm from the bloody router

Never had a problem with Sky until now, we have had the worst customer service ever... had tv Installed in the new place, fine. Supposed to have Internet put in on the 16th (four days ago) but they cancelled on like the 5th saying that we had to have fibre optic and that they'd install it on the 27th. Again, they messaged saying that we couldn't have fibre optic and that we'd have to have the normal installed on the 29th (which is what we originally wanted). Was sent another letter yesterday saying that they'd cancelled the date, so mum rang up and they confirmed this to not be true.. and today they sent her a text saying that it was cancelled altogether, and we couldn't have Sky broadband... we now have BT infinity booked for the 4th of June

O2 were brilliant when I left their contract... they were going to charge me £186 to cancel the contract which I was fine with, and then i got my final bill and it was only £132. I called to ask why it was and they said its because I was a good customer and never failed to pay and never went over... might be a small thing but really made it worth it for me!

I only moved because there was a better deal, but still really nice of them to do so!

AOL = Crap.

Best ISP is between BT and Sky. Would probably say BT Infinity tips it BT's way.

I've never had a problem with virgin really. Whenever I've had any issues I ring and they have been resolved quickly. If I'm not happy with anything I never ring customer services though, always ring the cancellation line and tell them you're going to sky or something and they are authorised to give better discounts and freebies etc.....

..I think we've only ever had BT and Sky and I would say BT was the best only from the thing that we seem to lose internet connection more often with Sky but with problems etc, they've both been good at sorting things out...
