Made magic prime time viewing on TV in the eighties, and led the way for people such as the husband of Victoria Wood, Geoffrey Durham (The Great Soprendo) and Wayne Dobson, who's career ended after being diagnosed with multiple-sclerosis, to become house-hold names.

And he did a grand job as a quiz presenter on 'Every Second Counts'

And we'll always remember his catchphrases, "That's Magic" and "I like it, Not a lot"
