Default Tibet

What are your thoughts regarding the Chinese occupation of Tibet, and the ongoing protests for independence in the region?

I think the protests are justified and the Chinese really should give the Tibetan people at least some form of self governance if not independence. It's not right for one country to occupy another for know real reason.

Problem is we aren't really in a position to talk since we went to war in Iraq and still occupy the country without a real reason other than a bunch of lies. I guess at least we are trying to set up a sort of puppet government that is west friendly just like our allies did in the past when they supported the rise to power of Saddam Hussein.

If China loses Tibet it would dramatically shrink the country i think that's the main reason why they don't want to give it back

The protests yesterday IMO were very strategical and well placed. They wanted to get their point across they got on the news being the lead story on some programmes. They're on the cover of almost every paper so they really have got their point across. However, I feel it was unnecessary to launch a slight attack on Konnie Huq but she has spouted so much **** about it in the last week then if she was specifically targeted then I can see why.

im not really sure what it is all about and why they are trying to extinguish the torch because they turn it off and then re-light it anyway
from what i understand Tibet wants independence from China and the Chinese are treating them badly and they are protesting for freedom and i support that completely.

China has the most appalling human rights, and they have killed and tortured thousands of Tibet nationals.
they walked in and took Tibet and the West did absolutely nothing.!
i wonder if its because they had no oil or resources that the West needs.?

Whenever I see the expression "Free Tibet" for some reason I think of the words, "With every packet of cornflakes"
