This film was talked about on another forum I am a a member of because of the appauling representation of science. If you look you will find a number of sites that highlights all these errors

I've always wanted to watch it after hearing reviews from friends and stuff!

Thats Yoda from Star Wars in your signature? And you're discussing the scientific reality of films?

By the way, it's 'appalling'

I've heard there's some scientific errors with Stuart Little, too.

APPARENTLY (Heard it from the grapevine) - Rats can't speak.

Yahyah... I know. I was just as shocked.

But Stuart Little is obviously a fantasy, this is purporting to show a what if according to the writer's agenda. Over egging the pudding and gilding the lilly are never legitimate in getting a message across.

Stuart Little is fantasy? Sticks! Stop ruining it for me!!

But on a more serious note: Roland Emmerich has never once claimed that The Day After Tomorrow was out to portray realistic events. He's claimed in interview after interview that he's a fan of science fiction.

This is my point, people are scared by it because it is implying it could happen, yet the science is awful and the real science will say it will not happen like that.

True, but surely thats misinformed audiences as opposed to the science of the film?

Never once have the directors/producers claimed that it was reflecting real potential events in a realistic fashion, yet audiences come away from watching it believing that this is real.

A lot of these audiences are misinformed by the bad science on TV and Hollywood. Another notorious film was Armageddon

Audiences shouldn't allow themselves to be (mis)informed by a film.

Surely if someone used one ounce of intelligence they'd understand that the events portrayed in these films aren't going to happen in the way that they are shown.
