Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has been voted the sexiest person ever by television viewers.

A Channel 4 poll seeking to find out which stars are viewed as the most desirable of all voted the Tomb Raider star as the biggest sex symbol of the lot.

In fact the only fictional character in the top ten – Lara Croft at number six – could possibly have something to do with the actress who portrayed her in the Tomb Raider films – namely, Jolie.

Meanwhile Angelina can celebrate a clear victory over hubby Brad Pitt, who only managed to get up to fifth place in the poll.

Two old-time stars made up the rest of the top three, with Elvis Presley coming second and Marilyn Monroe third.

Beyonce Knowles, formerly of Destiny's Child and now the star of the Oscar-nominated film Dreamgirls, came in fourth, while Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue was eighth.

But it was the Hollywood machine which came up with the rest of the top ten, with George Clooney in seventh, Johnny Depp in eighth and Scarlett Johansson in tenth place.

I'm surprised the odd person's there as well but then I assume these lists are put together based on lots of different peoples' and of course the different gender opinions along with times and icons in those times I guess as well (e.g. Elvis, Marilyn Monroe).

I'm not at all surprised Angelina Jolie is No.1 really. My take on her is that she's extremely pretty, definitely - and deserves it. However I remember watching a TV Programme on sexy movie stars once that said that Angelina was JUST at the edge of the too big lips/eyes/boobs/body proportion on a woman. She's as far as normal would go, i.e. if her lips or eyes or a part of her was bigger and less proportioned she'd be classed as weird or odd and generally freakish!

I've never agreed with the whole homewrecker thing though, it takes two to tango AND Brad and Jennifer obviously weren't that happy if Brad could fall for Angelina that easily. I'm a huge Jennifer fan as well, but I actually understand that you couldn't have made that relationship work for much longer - they wanted different things!

But in Psychology we learn that big lips are what men subconsciously go for, as well as a waist-to-hip ratio of 0.7 - which I think is what Angelina has. Also found in the same study is that men go for females with babyish features such as big eyes, big forehead - because this shows fertility.
