Endemol has renewed its contract with Elstree Film and TV Studios, keeping BB at the site until at least next spring.

ITV has also renewed its contract with the new owners, ensuring Dancing on Ice and Who Wants to be a Millionaire? stay at the studios until 2008.

An earlier contract kept the show at Elstree until August 2007, but this extention ensures Celebrity Big Brother can run as normal in January. Studio bosses have said they wish to expand and renovate the Elstree site, but are keen to keep the Big Brother house and the water tank on which it sits.

There had been speculation in the press that Endemol was planning to move the show to a new purpose-built location in Hammersmith.

I can't imagine BB not being at Elstree.

I was a bit skeptical in the first place at those rumours - i was convinced they agreed a contract last summer to stay up till at least BB8.

Well, Elstree is the second place where Big Brother was set. In 2000 and 2001, it was in this small house in Bow, East London. Then in BB3, it was moved to Elstree.
