Default Plastic Surgery

What are your views on plastic surgery?

Does it really improve a persons life?
Vanity or necessity?
Do too many people think it seems much simpler than it is?

I think it's all right obviously if a person's been in an accident and severely needs it! Then of course it does change lives. When it comes to cosmetic surgery however I'm not as sure. I know someone who had a nose job simply because it made her SO depressed - she really, really hated it... and no matter what anyone said because it made her so unhappy she went ahead and did it. Luckily for her she loves the outcome, but I think it just depends on how much you really want it. Before I didn't really agree with having your boobs made bigger etc. but if some girls feel they need it, fair enough. They can make their own decisions and they're the ones who'll have to keep going back to get it re-done. It's all about confidence to be honest IMO when it comes to plastic cosmetic surgery; how confident you are etc. I don't think it's necessarily vanity, although for some people of course that may be the case.

I think it is very much personal choice. I dont think that anyone who is truly happy with how they look would have it done so those that do are doing it to be more at ease with how they look.

My friend had her boobs done and also had her eyes lifted. We her friends didnt think she needed it done but she was not happy with her looks and her eyes in particular were a real issue for her. Being honest you could tell her boobs had been done obviously but the eyes, well once the bruising and slight swelling went I couldnt see a huge difference but she felt better which is what matters

I would never rule it out, being honest I would have a tummy tuck tomorrow. Having had 2 kids and a huge weight loss has left me with a little loose skin on my tummy which I would love taken away. No amount of sit ups would get rid of it! However I wouldnt pay for it, and it isnt severe enough to have it done by the NHS, so me and my tum will see out eternity together

Its a tricky one, I had a bad cycle accident when I was younger and have scars on my face, now I always said when I was older if they were still visible I would have something done about it. Luckily there not too bad and with a bit of makeup you would never know. Its part for me I guess.

As far as anything else is concerned, like sunny I would have a tummy tuck in a heartbeat. Having children, especially if you've had a c-section, can leave you with some undesired after effects.

So if I had the money...... thats the only thing I would have done

I say go for it.
It doesn't matter does it?

Lea for example. It made her happy. Its what she wanted.
Who are we to stop her someone being happy?

I think if it makes people feel people feel better about themselves than they should do it. I'm always reading stories though where people had a rubbish life and they thought changing would make it better and it didn't. If someone wanted it for neccesity and to make them feel better than I think its all good.

I used to want loads of plastic surgery done when I was a few years youunger but I don't anymore as I realised I don't exactly need it,I do want this thing done with my belly button though to change it from a outy to an inny oooh and laser eye surgery but thats not platstic surgery I don't think.

If your unhappy with your body, there's nothing wrong with getting something done. But I don't think it will ever be an option with me, no way would I go through the stress and pain for bigger boobs! Everyone has insicurities with their bodies, but you should be confortable in your own skin.

I think its upto the person themselves to decide if they are happy or not with how they look but plastic surgery has many risks and that is something they need to take into account aswell plus find out what happens if it doesn't all go to plan...what can be done etc.

I think getting it done properly aswell is a key...getting it done "on the cheap" in some foreign hospital may seem like a bargain at the time but is it cheap for a reason...research is the key and alot of research should be done beforehand.

It's sad my sister had one for a serious scar and she is hooked now she had one for her nose a month ago. But if people can do it only once for something serious then there should be no problem with that but again that's never definite.

If I could afford it, I would have loads done.

Veneers, boob job (reduction!), lipo, possibly a nose job.

Just a shame its so expensive.

Sure, I'd get a nose job.

It's fine, but too much surgery makes you look ****.

There is no god, Steve.

Fact is, some of us were born uglier than others.

I feel it's completley up to the person who is having/considering having it done. I've actually had an operation called Pinnaplasty which was under the NHS and classed as plastic surgery. I feel that it helped me massivley confidence wise and looks wise.

There probably are some cases which are entirley unneccasery, but to be honest nobody really knows how the person having it done is effected by things. So i don't think anyone has a right to say plastic surgery is wrong etc.. Nobody will truley understand how another person feels about themself. If it's going to help a person's confidence then it's totally up to them if they want it done, i know what it's like so won't ever knock someone for having it done.

All the boob jobs are about lack of confidence and seeking attention. I think it is very sad.

I think that for certain circumstances it is fine (disfigurements and so forth). Boob jobs are ridiculous for example and botox is also.

We all want to be liked more than the next person - look at our school years. Some people grow up and realise that all the people we thought that were looking at us and judging us were actually too busy thinking about themselves and we relax with what God gave us - plastic surgery helps those who did not work that out.

being constantly on TV and in magazines makes it cloudier, especially with touch ups and seeing yourself 5, 10 years ago all the time..

What if a person has a certain body part which hasn't formed properly? What would you suggest then?? That's what i had with my ears, the crease in the ear was not there which was causing it to stick out slightly more than it should. I went and had plastic surgery 3 years ago and have been much happier ever since. It's not ALWAYS wrong sometimes there are needs for it.
