According to this study In the past 30 years tested on grip strength, male strength has dropped considerably from grip strength of 117 to 98....Thats a fall of 16% ...In the same period female grip strength has risen from 79 to 98 pounds of pressure for 30 to 34 year old women.... So the score here is identical for women of this age group and the male average There are also figures relating to relative strength for men and women across different ages....It seems a 12 year old boys and girls have similar strength to the average 71 year old man Remarkable figures. Its great for women to be physically fitter and stronger than ever before, feminism is definitely helping them in this regard. But sad to see men so weak. Despite the advantage of testosterone, this has been superceeded by social behaviour. If this pattern continues , as remarkable as it sounds, females could become the physically stronger sex. |

I go to the gym regularly and I run. My mother has never been to a gym nor has she ever run anywhere. It's a generational thing... it's also kind of a sweeping generalisation. And I fail to see how feminism has helped me to be physically stronger that I might have been.

It is suprising how the average women, weighted over a large test group, have gotten 25% stronger and the average men 16% weaker during the past 30 years...clearly there is something major happenning there which is totally different for the 2 genders

I'd like to see their test group, find out how many people they used in this comparison. Was it 2? 200? 2,000? It's a bit like long division for me; without the workings, the answer means nothing.

I think that it's an interesting study, I do wonder if alot of men are starting to become more like me who prefer more geeky stuff, and watching Sports rather than taking part in Sports?

I've got really strong finger grip because I'm a rock climber but I'd say on average, people who don't have a job or do a sport that requires finger strength, have a relatively weak grip.
I wouldn't say my partners fingers are any stronger than mine (he's a rock climber too) but his arm strength/grip is way beyond mine.

As a woman's grip gets stronger it will all end in tears for the penis.
