New season is announced and the producers promise new twists, new houseguests !!! Yes please no more boring seasons with boring houseguests !!! Thanks !
![]() CBS announced on Thursday that it has ordered an eighth installment of Big Brother, the long-running reality series that has been a key part of the network's summer programming since it premiered in July 2000. While Big Brother 8's format will remain similar to the show's previous editions, the new season will feature one significant behind-the-scenes change -- a reduced role for Arnold Shapiro, who, along with Allison Grodner, had executive produced Big Brother's last six seasons (Shapiro and Grodner were brought on board after the show's disasterous first season.) After Big Brother 4, Shapiro/Grodner Productions, Shapiro and Grodner's production company, had signed a deal to produce three more Big Brother editions for CBS. However one year later, Shapiro and Grodner announced that while they would continue to work together on all their existing Shapiro/Grodner Productions projects and commitments, they'd decided to begin developing any new projects separately. "We're at different stages in our respective careers," Grodner, who is more than 20 years younger than Shapiro, told Daily Variety in October 2004. "It's an amicable split of projects and directions." While Shapiro will remain an executive consultant for Big Brother 8, the show will be produced by Allison Grodner Productions, Grodner's production company. Rich Meehan, a former co-executive producer who was promoted to executive producer for last summer's Big Brother: All-Stars, will return and executive produce Big Brother 8 with Grodner. "[I'm] gratified that Allison and I were able to successfully 're-invent' Big Brother 2 and turn the series into an annual summer hit," Shapiro told Variety this week. "We consider All-Stars sort of the end of an era, and now we're getting a chance to start once again with a fresh cast and new twists," Grodner told Variety. However while Big Brother 8 will begin a "new era" and feature a fresh set of houseguests, one familiar face will remain -- long-time Big Brother host Julie Chen. According to CBS, Chen, the wife of CBS Corporation president Les Moonves, will return to host the show's eighth season. Source: http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/c...-2007-4651.php |

Like BBUK, I'm hoping for a new format for BBUS. The show has picked up enough momentum to re-introduce public vote into the show again. Or at least allow the public to have some say in who stays and who goes.
Also, please, no more house guests that know each other. All strangers please. |

The only 'public voting' they do is America's choice or something. And Janelle always won, so that just got stupid.

Yeah, they're enot obligated to introduce the public vote for evictions but why not in order to remplace the "power of veto" (which one is boring now) or as BB4eva said, choose a third nominee or choose the HOH !!

Big Brother US would never work with the original format. And this is why:
1. People suck up to the cameras and act boring and nice. 2. All the interesting people leave first. The most interesting people left the house in the first two weeks during BB1 and it was a failure. We had people like Jamie and Curtis making Final Four and they were boring and nice. With the BB2 format we got people like Dr. Will going far and winning. It works for the US and it needs to stick. Personally BB4 was probably the worst season of BB. Please no BB4!!! We need more BB2/BB5/BB6/BB7 type casts. ![]() |

I think BBUSA must have a new format, new house, new rules, public vote and crowd (because the interviews are sooo boring) and a daily show too because sometimes I think it's so fake.
We need some entertainment, stop nice and quite people. It's like BB Australia, they need to change the cast ! I want a crazy Big Brother with big characters and twists. In 7 seasons, the only houseguests to be popular are Janelle, Will and Kaysar. It's cool but they are too nice and sweet. I hope the new producers will make a funny show this time. |

There is not a single show here in the States that airs everyday in prime time on the big networks. I would love if that happened, but I don't think so. If so then Fox would have done so a long time with American Idol. Alison I think has always been the one more involved in the show, because usually she does the interviews and both time since season 2 that they have shown Big Brother talk to the house guests on the show was Alison.

America's one is really different, it's a good show but really boring sometimes, people are too "normal".
It's funny, you know because in England Big Brother needs more "normal" housemates but in America they need more "outrageous" houseguests. I hope they changed the format, the house and everything...I can't wait !!! |

I did watch it, but I still think it's not crazy, funny, entertaining and boring. It's cool to see the alliances, the powers....but there is too much nice people. Only the best game-players as Janelle, Will and Kaysar are popular.
Big Brother US need something new like new powers, new type of houseguests, new tasks, secret missions and bigger twists. In season 6, it was the housemate back, and in season 7 the 2 HOH and the double eviction. Do u call that an entertaining show ? Always the same thing ! This summer I will watch it because I wish there will be a lot of changes ! |

Why fix something that's broke. Everybody in the US is satisfied with the format right now because look at Season 1. Mega, Jordan, and Brittany gone in the first four weeks. And the ratings plumided so badly they weren't going to do a Big Brother 2. The ratings suffered until BB3 where it finally regained an audience. As for secret missions, I think that it would be fun to see secret missions and such on the show between contestants. However enough with Different Powers, we had the Coup De'Tat this last season and it failed miserably. POV and HoH are enough. We're not getting a daily show anymore because quite frankly, nobody would watch it. It's better in a perfect little edited package 3 days a week. I will agree with you that this series over here may not be as crazy and exciting, but its still majorly entertaining with and without the strategy and backstabbing between contestants. As for too many nice people? Ummm no, definitly not.
We've had: Chilltown (Dr. Will and Mike Boogie) A Black Supremesist who Hates Whites and Jews (Will Mega) A Paraplygic Who Hated Everyone in the House (Eddie McGee) The Four Horsemen of Season 5 (Jase and Scott mostly) The Friendship of Season 6 (April, Beau, Ivette, Maggie, Jennifer, Cappy) Alison and Jun from Season 4, who ended up being the Final 2 James from Seasons 6 & 7 If anything we have too many evil people in the house....I take that back you can never have enough evil people in the BB House ![]() |

I watch it since season 5 ! But sometimes it seems to fake. I agree with you, they must imagine different powers and the strategy side is wicked !
The thing is, maybe people want more craziness than strategy now. How many parties do they had during the All Stars season ? Except Boogie's Birthday, none. Or the houseguests are sleeping or they're bitching. The funny thing is too see how people manipulate (Will and Boogie with their "ninja moves" it was so funny) the others. |

You definitly need to watch Big Brother 2. Most amazing season of any reality show or TV show period, I have ever seen and millions of fan agree with that statment. Check out YouTube. Also try to look up Big Brother 1 footage. Mega, Chicken George, Eddie, Jordan, Brittany, all great characters however the boring people such as: Curtis, Jamie, Josh, and Cassandra got voted through to the Final 6 because they were quiet and didn't make any moves. Mega, Jordan, and Brittany got voted out Weeks 1, 2, and 4 sadly. However Chicken George made Final Five and Eddie ended up winning. It's just a shame all the majorly interesting people went early though. That is why they changed the format. Personally I would love to see more crazies in the house. We've only had Howie, Jase, Scott, George etc. We need some more legit crazy people! Of course with a balance of the strategic, smart, calm collected players. ![]() |
