From www.metro.co.uk Heiress Paris Hilton should be jailed for 45 days for violating terms of her probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction, city prosecutors say. In documents filed on April 30 in the Superior Court, prosecutors said they also want Paris to be required to stay away from alcohol for 90 days and wear a monitoring device that will chart whether she complies. The recommendation will be reviewed by a judge when Paris appears for a probation violation hearing on Friday. She pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from an arrest in Hollywood last September. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and 1,500 US dollars (£750) in fines. She was pulled over by authorities on January 15. Officers informed Paris she was driving on a suspended licence and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive, according to court papers. She was pulled over by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies on February 27 for speeding and driving without her headlights, at which time she was charged with violating her probation. Paris's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time that she was not aware her licence was suspended. Prosecutors say by signing the document Hilton knew she was not allowed to drive. They also note that as of April 17 she had yet to enrol in the alcohol education program. "These violations demonstrate Hilton's disregard for the vehicle laws of this state as well as for the conditions of her probation," the court filing said. "This court should ... include imprisonment as a condition of reinstating her probation."

Another example of how some "celebs" think that they are above the law and that they think they can simply say " oops I didnt realise I was not allowed to do that" She should see the inside of a prison cell for her violation, you or I certainly would and I am as unable to cope with that as any of these rich kids!

Oh dear, you can bet your bottom dollar that she will get off without a stint in jail. Its shocking how celebs think they can get away without abiding to the law

This kind of things makes me sick. As Sunny said - another one of these 'celebrities' who clearly thinks the law doesn't apply to them. No doubt she will not go to prison, but it would certainly do her good to spend a few months inside. Honestly, she's a disgrace. Why some people adore her is beyond me.

This girl has about as much talent as my little finger. She swans around pouting and shopping. She is a socialite plain and simple.

I need to keep an eye on TMZ. Hope she goes down. This was posted yesterday on tmz.com Paris Hilton is in big trouble, if the Los Angeles City Attorney has his way. TMZ has obtained documents filed with the court, in which prosecutors say they want Hilton to spend 45 days in jail. Paris must appear tomorrow on a probation violation, for allegedly driving on a suspended license. Hilton was already on probation after pleading no contest last January to alcohol-related reckless driving. The DMV had suspended Hilton's license as a result of her DUI bust. While her license was suspended, Hilton was stopped by the CHP last January 15, and again by the L.A. County Sheriffs on February 27. The City Attorney will argue that Hilton certainly knew after she was stopped in January that she wasn't allowed to drive, so the second stop was a flagrant violation of law. The documents suggest Hilton mistakenly relied on her lawyer's assumption that Hilton had a right to drive, but the City Attorney claims in the legal papers that it's a bogus argument. According to the papers, Hilton also failed to enroll in an alcohol education program within 21 days of the order directing her to do so. The legal papers ask that "Hilton be ordered to serve 45 days in County Jail." Prosecutors also want her to be ordered "not to consume any alcohol for a continuous period of 90 days." During that 90-day period, prosecutors want her "to be monitored for alcohol consumption ... by use of a Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring (SCRAM) device at her expense." Tracy Morgan was just ordered to wear a SCRAM device. The City Attorney wants more. Because of her "flagrant" driving violations, they want her license suspended for an additional four months -- and they want her car impounded for 30 days.

Oh I think that a stint in jail will teach her a thing or too about morrals and accountability for her actions.

But she won't cuz she's so spoiled and pampered. And, don't even get me started on her 'singing' and 'acting' careers. In my opinion, singing and acting should be left to singers and actors

I think its fair to say, that in my opinion, she is talentless. She is famous for partying, thats how she made her name. She is a socialite. So I really think that you cant class her as an actress or a singer. Having said that...... she will not go to jail

Aye kiz. SHe wont go down. i think she's famous because she's an heiress more than anything. Which leads me onto another point - She's one of the richest young woemn in America so why does she pursue acting and singing? Why doesn't she leave that to actors and singers. They're the ones with the real talent. And, it's not as if she doing it for the money cuz she's already got loads of money. I see something very selfish in Paris' music and film career. I think she's does them for the fame and that is totally the wrong reason for pursuing careers in the entertainment industry.

I think it would serve Paris right if she went to prison - because she certainly won't be expecting to be sent there. But no doubt when she came out, she would release some trashy ghostwritten autobiography talking all about her hellish time in prison. And then all the Paris lovers will say how brave and wonderful she has been, despite the fact that she would only have ended up there in the first place because of her own thoughtless, reckless actions.

Do I want Paris to go to jail? NO, so therefore I'm supporting her. I don't think she would be able to cope. But saying that she'd be learning her lesson and will set an example to some of her fans. It could be a case with some girls on the road, like a "If it happened to Paris it could happen to me" kinda thing. And also you guys need to understand that some of us on here are supporting her because we are loyal fans.

Which in my eyes and the laws is wrong. I think prison is a bit harsh but it may be what she needs. And of course she could cope in prison. If an 81 year old can cope (she got sentanced a few weeks back) then I think Paris could.
