BIG Brother bosses have not yet chosen the final line-up of housemates - with just a week to go before the show starts.

Big Brother 8 will kick off next Wednesday going head-to-head with BBC's hit The Apprentice.

But bosses at Channel 4 are still deciding who will make the final 12.

Host Davina McCall said: "I spoke to one of the producers and they told me they still don't know exactly who is going in.

"They have got a shortlist now but they haven't decided exactly how many or which people will become housemates."

There are thought to be at least 20 potential housemates all hoping to get on to the show.

Executive producer Rebecca De Young said yesterday she wants BB8 to be "fresh and funny" - to avoid a repeat of Celebrity BB's rows and racism surrounding Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and Jade Goody.

Davina added last night: "I want to laugh, laugh and laugh until I pee my pants."

Yes Endemol may even change a few on the Day.

So only 12 are going in the house then on launch night???. How does the Daily Mirror know about that???.

Awww now my housemate games ruined.

There cutting it close by not have decieded who is going in the house.

12 Housemates is goood. but tht doesnt mean theres not more as on the 3rd night (Friday 1st June) there is a double LIVE show....any ideas?

12-13,14 is a good number for launch night as it gives scope for new housemates to come in during the show.

No 12 is not a solid number and thats no been confirmed.
In fact what davina said is that they have not decided on how many are even going in yet.

They will probably put in as many decent individual characters they can!

Personally i think 12 are going in on the wednesday and as the TV listnings are saying there is a double show on the friday i think secret ones are going in then..
