Default Is Davina back to her best?

In previous years people have said that Davina has lost her spark but this years so far I think she has done it well. Does anyone else agree or still think she is lacking that something? I don't know whether I have just gotten use to her again now or she has improved. Whats everyone elses views?

I think she's done a good job so far this series. I have noticed she tends to slip up with her words quite a bit now though, not that i'm complaining because BB certainly would not be the same without her.

Rather than getting annoyed at her slip ups I find them quite funny as she carries herself well and pulls herself back on track. I am warming to her again and I agree it wouldn't be the same without her.

Shabnam, obviously

But seriously she is getting really bad at her job. She's so fake and always says the same things. "Oooh sorry I forgot I was on live then LOLOLOLOL! It's just soooo interesting *live feed is Carole washing dishes*."

It's fake and sometimes it's too horrible and cringeworthy to watch.

^ I just really like her and think the general public were very, very stupid to get rid of such a big character so early on. It's stupid.

They get rid of the big characters and keep in the boring ones (Carole&Tracey) and then claim it's boring. Erm... who the hell is to blame for that I wonder?

I'm no Davina fan, I just find her annoying when she does the faces, voices, impressions etc. but I wouldn't want her to leave as it just wouldn't be BB without her annoying me hehe.

The only person I would want to replace her would be Dermot, because I much prefer him as a person and a presenter (I don't think he deserves any of the flak he gets, but then I guess people say that about Davina...) and he's already a big BB player so it wouldn't seem like that much of a change.

Giving O'Dreary the main show would be like giving a toddler the keys to a Ferrari.

Davina was a desperate wannabee once as well, lucky for her she had someone to open a few television doors for her.

let's face it, Davina is as talentless as most BB contestants.

I think she's been doing a good job so far - she's been handling the show as a whole well. Plus I've always maintained BB wouldn't be BB without Davina.

I like Davina, she's doing a fine job and looking fabulous considering she'll be 40 next birthday. I only wish I will be looking half as fabulous when I'm 39 which is in many many years of course

As well as whom? Unless you consider O'Dreary to be 'a desperate wannabee' of course, which would be rather telling after eight years in the job.

She's so 'talentless' that she's never been short of work in over a decade, and remains extremely popular with the vast majority of the audience.

maybe she is hardworking and professional sure, but she doesn't have any talent, she can present in a half decent way but so could many desperate wannabees in the street, her interview technique is non-existant.

talented, how? in what way? is she as talented as a singer and actor or dancer?

Bunter, I'm not Charlotte Somtimes but talent comes in many variations.
Davina has a gift of being good with people. She gets the best out of them generally. There have been some poor interviews in the past, no one can deny that, but that is not just Davina involved there. She has to think about treading on Ofcom's toes too and her producer must be constantly in her ear telling her this that and the other.

Are you a TV presenter by chance? Or who do you think could do better?

I think all the presenters currently on tv could do the same job, it's not really a profession bursting in talent is it?

some people like her personality, that's all she needs, I don't think that's a talent myself, I meet many people each day that are good with people.

getting your foot in the door is the major most important part of her job, you can stay there forever virtually then in presenting, jobs that need talent you get found out much more quickly.

Anyone could do it indeed, but few would have the same charisma and ability to engage with the audience. I'm not the fluffy bunnies and kittens type by any means, but when I see Davina on the screen, I smile and feel comfortable straight away. As for her interview technique, are we talking BB or her doomed BBC1 chatshow? As I'm not president of the Davina fan club, I'll go with the former. Her interviews are largely based on what her bosses want to see. And more often than not, she gets people to open up - whether by making them feel comfortable and relaxed from the outset, or by asking the right questions at the right time. This is BB after all. The show hardly requires a Paxman approach.

How many other tv presenters are talented singers, actors or dancers? And since when does that matter even remotely, much less suggest that it would make them any better at the job?

Yes I would agree 100% with that summary. BB is the type of show Davina is best at. My only niggle about her is her persistence in encouraging the booing which has got more and more bitter and none pantomine in nature for each year that passess. It is also down to CH4 to weed out the rent a mob individuals who spoil interviews from being heard properly.

That said I have no other critisism about her........She is charasmatic and good with people but too broadminded for the likes of control freak Ofcom numbskulls and has to be careful how far she goes.....
