Nicky has been encouraging the other housemates to get more involved in charity work.

"If people could just stop being so selfish," she said.

"What is £2? What costs £2?" she asked.

She admitted it was a bit different for students but said: "You lot can still do your bit by recycling and stuff like that."

During the bathroom chat, Brian talked about poverty and said he doesn't like reading newspapers because he finds them depressing. But he does give to Red Nose Day.

Other housemates kept to more conventional Big Brother chat: discussing evictions.

Billi, who's been nominated and faces the public vote tomorrow, told Carole and Jonathan: "I'm quite happy being up now."

"You know where you stand outside. If you're out it means you're not popular enough, in which case you might as well go," Jonathan reassured him.

"Or you get voted back in and you know you've got the popular vote behind you."
