Arrow Control

Got this yesterday, it's pretty good so far, good combat and exploration...

...and it looks like its connected to Alan Wake

The combat is fun once you start unlocking powers and the game is gorgeous on PC with a few tweaks (those reflective surfaces in the... umm... the weird other dimension bit where they demonstrate new powers... on the black stone surfaces. Drool.)

HOWEVER I have to admit thus far I'm pretty baffled by the story

It's definately worth playing Alan Wake, you will pick up on a lot more, Control is a very unexpected development in the A. Wake universe

I feel like I might just be lazy and watch the game movie on YouTube... especially since I can do it while working on Monday . Multitasking innit.

This is available for free on PS Plus this month (along with another game, Concrete Genie, and another game if you've somehow got your hands on a PS5... completely unfair that we mere PS4 owners aren't even able to add those games to our libraries for later use but ho hum...)

I started playing it (literally only half an hour's worth) and it's absolutely fascinating... is it connected concretely to the whole SCP phenomenon? Because I've given that the odd read over the years and found the concept interesting. The gameplay is definitely something I'm going to enjoy; the whole building/dimension is just... eerie without (so far ) verging on tired horror tropes (if there are jump scares I will not be happy!)

This is (yet another) game I never got very far with - I got confused about where I was meant to go at some point, stopped playing and never loaded it up again .

Have they done a "proper" PS5 update? I imagine it'll look amazing on the new consoles, it was really pushing my PC when I played (and that was 18 months ago when it was still a top tier gaming PC, and didn't need a graphics card upgrade which YOU CANNOT BUY )

But yeah, this was put together with graphics potential waaay beyond what the PS4/Pro can pump out so it would be a quick and easy upgrade to PS5.
