...no more or less than any other aspect of their portrayal that I would deem as ‘terrible’ or unconvincing because it can distract so much and that should never be how a character is with the right actor in the part...

I’m hopeless with accents so it makes no difference to me .. I do sometimes wonder why they cast Brits as American cops or criminals as they did in The Wire with Idris Elba and Dominic West taking two main roles ..

the only example I can think of that irritates me is when RuPaul and Michelle Visage do their ****ty British accent when hosting Drag Race UK... but then that might be more because their sense of humour is so dated and repetitive.
