It is concerning, lithium is a very serious "last resort" medication for people with severe depressive disorders who have failed to respond to other medications and are at high risk of suicide. They have to monitor lithium levels in the blood constantly because it can build up and completely **** your kidneys, amongst other nasty side effects.

I do find that a particularly ironic part of the whole case; she has to pay (via her estate) for his lawyers to fight against her. I feel like it's such a messed up situation that, assuming a hopefully good outcome for Britney here, they really need to look at the legal processes that have lead to this being possible. I'm sure the Lockian philosophies that the entire US constitution uses as a foundation would be 100% against this even being vaguely possible.
