Default Do you think Truss stepping down or being ousted should lead to a General Election?

First off, PMs aren't elected, so if she was shadily replaced, she'd be as "unelected" as any other.

BUT changing PMs twice since a General is a bit ... much.

And if Truss, or whoever follows her, doesn't at least make a token effort to honour the 2019 manifesto, what right will they have to fill the oversized clown shoes?

not legally, but morally there should be an election. Of course its going to take rioting in the street to make that happen because the tories sure wont rush to wipe themselves out which is what would happen

The problem is, the opposition only look like the answer because the conservatives are that bad that any alternative would be welcomed.

Yes.
I largely agree with bots on this at this time.

It's also true the voters moving to Labour is in a big part more against this Con government than being FOR Labour.
However I think there is a more hardening of those voters now to give Labour that chance.

Which if we do get the chance I hope Labour will act competently with more compassion and at least try to present policy to the electorate in a fairer and more just way.
Not just setting out to deceive.

Yes however, morally if Truss is ousted and yet another PM elected by only the Con Party, there should be a general election.
Out of simple respect to the electorate if nothing else.

Why would it ?

They have another 12 months in charge don’t they ?

Why would the Tory MPs give 12 lucrative months away

I don't think there will be a General Election. It certainly wouldn't be in the Tories interests because they'd lose it.

Not sure it would be in the country's interests either.

Sunak or Mordaunt should replace Truss immediately
