Many people hate change and like things to stay the same and have one foot stuck in the past and can't really progress and face a new experience.

A lot say, that the younger years of your life, are the best and even though you may look back to when you were at school and say, "I hated it!!", do you really mean that?

It also applies to so many things. It is like getting use to a certain routine in life, or moving from one place to another and losing touch with friends and things you once did.

Many grow up in a house and live ther for 15 years of their life and suddenly their parents say, "We're moving house and going to another town, far away", that can be terrible to some and the thought of change and everything which was so familiar and what you were so used to, is all over and you have to start anew.

It also applies to technology. Many have their lovely record collection and their videotapes and see Ipods & MP3's and such-like, and many just hate change and won't adapt to what is here today.

I can go on forever with examples, as there are so many.....

But basically, the question is:-

Does change bother you, or not?

any stories to tell?

That said, the house I brought with my lovely man in 1992 is the one I don't want to move from. It has nothing to do with the fact that the house I want is out of my reach!!! I just feel comfy.
My lovely man is awful with change and likes his slippers by the fireplace; but alas the fireplace was ripped out before we moved in and my teenage daughter keeps nicking his slippers so he is forced to adapt.

We're about to buy a plasma telly, and I've literally been given the task of choosing it...

They give me a few models they like at I tell them which is the best and if they can do better...

It depends greatly upon which moment in time you're in, to a large extent. Sometimes when I'm enjoying a time period very much, I never want things to change... however, that happens rarely (lol), and for me mostly I enjoy change, trying new things - it gives me a sense of adventure. I think also that it applies to everything as well - I tend to embrace new situations, whilst keeping memories of the past and looking back on them fondly. You just have to be positive about change, and get on with it.

When it comes to food, though, I'm not quite as adventurous - I have some foods I enjoy eating and prefer to keep variation to a minimum. I'm often told to stop ordering the same thing, but at the end of the day if you like something, why not eat it?! Hopefully I'll have plenty of opportunities to sort that out though!

I'd say that like most people when you're happy with how things are going in your life at a certain period of time, you want things to stay the same as you're in a comfort zone.I look back on some of the best years of my life that weren't so long ago and think I'd like to go back there again, not just for me but for my mum who had an accident that's really effected her life.

In terms of other things such as technology, music, football etc I do like change as the interest is always there for me in progression and something different and it's not like you cannot still use old technology and listen to old music or watch old games of football.

Do you get annoyed when football players change in a team? Or a great manager get's replaced by someone new?

It is like losing, Sir Alex Ferguson, as Man.Utd manager.

That change would be suicidal to some.

It's always sad to see great players go, my team lost probably the best player we've had in years in January but got a lot of money which helped the club and we ended up winning a trophy at the new Wembley with some of the players bought with the money we got from his sale so it can be a positive and it's always exciting to get new players.


Players, chairman and managers all go but the true fans remain and always love supporting their team despite the low points that come for most because there is usually some good points down the line.

Myself, I enjoy change when I'm ready for it, but will always keep predictable and controlled measures of my life close to me.

There have been times when I've not wanted things to change but when they unflold I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I sometimes wish I was back at primary school, or a few years back in secondary school. Things were a lot more innocent then, and I was more care-free - whereas now my friends are usually falling out over something petty, bitching is rife, and there's the continual stress of exams, universities, jobs, etc etc...

I also feel the world was safer back then, there wasn't really a war going on in the mid-90s, and if there was I wasn't aware of it at the time However now there's the whole terrorism-Iraq-Afghanistan-Iran stuff, and it's just worrying.

Then again, there's some privileges with my current age - I'm almost able to drink, drive (though not at the same time, LOL), vote, I am able to have sex, smoke (though I don't), bet...and tonnes of other stuff.

I suppose change is good when you want it but bad when you don't....

I don't mind change but not change for changes sake. Governments forever reforming what does not need reforming for example. Change for reasons of dogma rather than need. But that's another debate.....

Technical change can be deemed bad if it is to fast for the majority to keep such as oldies like myself.......

I'm needing to be ready for a flat screen LCD/Plasma/HD/SD/HDMI/Component/ or whatever........What an apparent complicated mess of choices to wade through.....Ahh well back to school if only they had not changed it into a field.......

I love traditions, the old good things, you know I'm italian and russian so I can tell a lot of things about that, I have to mix my 2 cultures and sometimes it's hard. Even with my friends, I like to do the same things, for exemple, the friday night it's beach, clubbing and speding the rest of the night in my city until 7am and go to sleep in my best friend's house.
But sometimes I need some changes, more with my girlfriends, we both like new experiences, in every categories, we love to taste new things together. That's my personality actually, I'm a mix of that.
Even in any other situations, I'm like that, the morning I have my habits, I can't change that.
I think I have to make a list with what I want to change and to keep the same.

I am terrible Remy, I seem to stick to the same things and do things in a pretty much ritualistic way sometimes and when the thought of change gets suggest to me, I tend to say, "Well, I'll keep things the same".

I am so sentimental about things and that is one problem with Aquarians, sentimentality throws over the judgement.

Keeping things the same way.

My ex-girlfriend got fed up with some of the things I chose to keep exactly the same.

But some things I do change, and there are reasons....

I am supersticious too..

practicly everything has changed in my life
the moment I finished School we moved to Blackpool to open a hotel, I dont know anyone lol but Im sure I'll get used to it

Blackpool is great

I visit often, it's worth the 30 mile trip for me and very little beats the place.

I cycle along the promenade with my neice or nephew, whoever chooses to come, never together. Arguments are terrible

But I get the feeling of familiarity and memories and everything else with the wonderful seaside town.
