Default Over the next 4 weeks Police will give £10 if you hand in Zombie Knife

Good Idea

[If you think your item is worth more
than £10, you can claim for the higher amount
with supporting evidence.]

Show them a receipt etc.

Yeah because the ones doing all these stabbings are really going to hand in their weapons.... NOT , the only ones who'll hand in their weapons ...will be movie lovers who collect items / replica's I bet.

On paper a good idea.

However I'd doubt any with real criminal intent will hand them in.
Possibly people connected to them who MAY know they have knives.
Could do it for them or at least try to persuade them to.

I'm not sure the ones that need to be handed in will be sadly.
This is needed though to try to get knives out of possession and off the streets.

However, for me, much stiffer and certainly longer custodial sentences for knife crime OR even just owning or carrying one is what I think needs to be brought in.

Joey they already tried this amnesty in Leeds I think a while ago, sure plenty of weapons were handed in... in fact alot of knives and all sorts. Knife crime still happened like it always has ,granted it's so much worse now . Seems every day practically we're hearing of a weapon attack / stabbing of some kind which is horrific, and there definitely needs to be action to tackle it .

The way I see it ...the violent criminals/ thugs will not be so willing to hand over their weapons, and even if they do... they'll likely have other weapons anyway . As it's never just 1 item they own.

I agree about longer sentences and stricter on knife crime though. That would show that it's being taken seriously.

The thing is, we have seen with the sentencing given to the rioters that has put a stop to ongoing riots

Longer sentences is good for the community

"Zombie knives" is, somewhat ironically, such an irritatingly braindead term. It doesn't actually mean anything, it's a phrase invented entirely by the press.

The first series of zombie-themed knives was released in 2011 by American knife company KA-BAR after a company official joked about "the need for knives capable of killing a zombie when firearms aren't available".

A zombie style knife is a bladed weapon with: A plain cutting edge. A sharp pointed end, and. A blade of over eight inches long
