Default Cotsworld: Jeremy Clarkson opens his New Pub

[More than 400 people waited hours
to be the first to enter Clarkson's new pub]

Fresh Food was taken to the new pub.

[Jeremy Clarkson opens his new pub
The Farmer's Dog as fans queue for
more than four hours to be the first
to sup a pint]

[Clarkson delighted fans by going
on an impromptu walkabout
in the expansive field where dozens of
people sat at wooden picnic tables.

Accompanied by his partner Lisa Hogan,
he shook hands and walked to a
pop up kitchen called ‘The Farmer’s puppy.’

He again refused requests to pose for selfies but
acknowledged the large crowds who
followed in his wake.

Huge queues form outside
Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat farm
as fans wait hours to visit his shop

An adjoining field that could cater
for up to 2,000 cars had been rented
for the day to cope with expected influx
of customers.

An hour before the pub opened more
than 400 people had joined the queue
which snaked through the car park
and past a green marquee selling produce
from Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm.
Event staff in high viz jackets were
on duty to keep order.]

…I just don’t get it, but then I’ve never watched his show …we were at the Cotswold’s earlier in the year and went to go to the farm shop …it’s not really a shop, it’s more or less a hut and would only take around 3 minutes to look around from the size but the queue was around 4 hours long….anyway, we didn’t queue but many were…and the products sell at other retailers as well, so it’s a crazy phenomenon…

We went there too...it was supposed to be closed but his wife was stocking up and let us in. It is tiny and quite expensive. Its like everything else...we love the show and we really love all the characters...its the novelty of it all.
I shall look forward to visiting his pub one day...we love that part of the world anyway.

I think it's great what he's done although I don't have much interest in visiting his shop. I like his beer but you can get that loads of places now

I'm sure he'll run a good pub too although I'd baulk at the prices. Imagine it'll be very food focused and full of wankers in red trousers

there is obviously demand for these type of places or they wouldn't exist

People will pay extraordinary amounts of money to go to places that are seen as being a little bit unusual/exclusive

…yeah, it’s the first time we’d been to that part of the country and it is very gorgeous …(…and very expensive…)…the area where we stayed was right by the lakes and totally stunning……and every afternoon at 5pm a version of the National Anthem played through an old style tannoy system…….

…thank you for the recommendation……we for sure will take a look at that before another visit there…

…EDIT: …oh where we did go was The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, which was such an excellent day out and …(…our little grandbaby…)…was able to get up eye to eye with a giraffe…although he did seem a bit more distracted with the tree top…
