Liam and Gerry have been feeling emotional after receiving messages from their families.

Ziggy and Gerry presented their BBTV news bulletin this evening as part of this week's shopping task to run a television channel.

Ziggy read a message to Liam from his father, stating that his family were all "very proud". It ended with the words "we miss you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow".

Gerry was then surprised when he had to read an autocue message from one of his own friends from Greece. "I don't really know what to say apart from that you look gorgeous, darling," he read.

He became visibily emotional as he ended the message - which had included words of support from his mother - with the sentiment "know that I love you very much".

After the bulletin, he immediately burst into tears, sobbing: "I'm so pleased my mum still speaks to me...I wasn't expecting it."

Ziggy offered some words of comfort but was busy fretting about his own presenting skills. Referring to Liam's message, he said: "Did I read it out alright? It was important to someone and I hope I read it out well."

Gerry agreed that his mother's unexpected support would give him more courage in the house, telling the other housemates: "Seriously, it was so emotional. I was feeling so alone guys, this came at the best time for me."

Meanwhile, Liam retreated to the smokers' bench with tears in his eyes as he pondered his message from home.
