Every year, people refer to certain hm's as the mum, dad, etc. Is there a 'dad' in the house this year, or are the girls pretty much running the show?

I think the girls are in control. Neither Gerry nor Piggy have enough respect, Brian isn't assertive, and Liam doesn't really care, as long as he's alright.

I dont think any of them is the "daddy", but i think most of the housemates respect and look up to Liam quite a bit.

Zach's busy with his schoolyard games 'relationship' with Chanelle and doesn't really respect women, which I think is proving the obstacle in earning their respect in return, so he's out. Gerry acts as a consultant and sort of therapist to HM's but doesn't provide anything more than an outlet for conversation and can be quite childlike at times, so he's out. Liam is quiet, reserved and quite unassuming, so isn't really cut out for leadership; I think he'd just prefer to play the 'stable boy' role and wait for his opportunity to 'mess around in the hay-loft' with a pretty blonde girl (not a bad idea, really).
Brian's probably the person best suited to the role, but hasn't taken it up yet or even attempted to, seemingly. I think he's one for the future. Are the girls running things? It's hard to see. The distinct divide in the house between Charley and Chanelle means the girls don't operate as a unit. Aslong as the two enemies are there, conflict will prevent harmony with the girls, in my opinion, and good a reason as any to keep Charley in. So my answer is, none of them are. Carole runs the ship on her own as the 'mother' role, and I think the 'makeshift' father figure of Jonathan for that short time was the closest they've had to a 'father' role. |
