Her family life might be in crisis, but maybe Britney’s career hasn’t gone all the way down the plughole after all, with the news that her new track, Gimme More, is the most downloaded song on iTunes in the US. OK, so all the furore around her custody battle might have helped, but maybe, just maybe, it will give her a nudge in the right direction when it comes to sorting out that messy old life of hers…
