Big Brother to stay in town

Elstree Film and Television Studios is set to host Big Brother for another two years.

The company behind the reality television show, Endemol, wanted to extend the Friday night eviction licence from 11pm to 11.30pm but this was last week refused by a Hertsmere Borough Council planning committee.

A spokeswoman for neighbouring Hillside Residents Association said: "The extra half an hour is not necessary. They can get people off the site really quickly.

"An 11pm finish has never caused a problem in the past.

"Endemol has been very cooperative in the past but we want assurance that the same guidelines will continue to apply."

It was agreed that the licence would be extended for two years with a one year review.

Interesting they are planning for another two years. No move to Surrey though.
