Default Hope\'s Exit Interview

The X Factor’s most successful five piece ever said goodbye to the show on Live Show 7. Here’s what they had to say the morning after…

Hey girls! How do you feel this morning?
Leah: We’re feeling positive, even though we’re not on the show any more. We did our best, we went out with a bang, and we don’t think it ends there…!

What did you do after your eviction last night?
Raquelle: We ate, drank, and danced (well, apart from Leah who doesn’t drink!) We had had some pizza, had a good natter and then we had to pack because we had to be up so early this morning. We were really sad packing because we’ve accumulated so much stuff since we’ve been there.

What do you think the house will be like without your energy?
Emily: It will be quiet! When Futureproof went, it was strange because they were five people, it just felt so dead. Now there are only going to be four people in there. It’s going to be lonely without us!

Have you spoken to Simon since you got knocked out?
Raquelle: We spoke to Simon last night after the show he said, ‘Girls, it was a tough competition’. We were with four acts who have never been in the bottom two, and who are really popular and fantastic. We knew in the bottom of our hearts it was our time to go.

Are you relieved you’ll never have to be in the bottom two again?
Raquelle: Yes It was really tough, we are the ultimate survivors. But it’s made us so strong as people, and it’s bonded us for life. This is an experience that no one else – not even people we love like our family and friends – can relate to, us girls are in this together. We’re after success in the outside world.

What have you enjoyed most about The X Factor journey?
Charlie: It’s all been positive, especially the accumulation of experience as we did more and more live shows. You improve and you relax. We shared the experience with four best friends.

Is there anything you’d have done differently?
Leah: No, I believe that everything happens for a reason. Everything we did was challenge and we weren’t scared to go outside the box. We were out of our comfort zone every time, it was the best that we could have possibly have done. For a five piece, to have done as well as we’ve done out of all of the thousands of people who auditioned, we feel proud and we feel blessed.
Raquelle: I want to say thank you to everyone who voted for us, we really appreciate the fact you spent the time and the money each time you picked up the phone, it means the world to us. Thank you. We’re going to keep going. Make sure you buy the record one day!

What’s been your most showbizzy moment?
Charlie: We loved going to the premiere of The Golden Compass. We lived the dream on the red carpet, for about ten minutes. Although it was overwhelming and scary, it was something we’ll never forget.

What’s are your immediate plans for after the show?
Charlie: I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with my little boy, it will be a lovely Christmas.
Pheobe: We’re going to miss each other so much. We might take a trip to Sunderland or Devon, and catch up, because it will be hard to be apart. I think we’re going to be gigging as well quite a lot, and we’ve got The X Factor live tour to look forward to.

How will you see each other once you scatter around the country?
Raquelle: We’re probably hopefully get a flat together in London, so we can go gigging and work together. We’re going to pull out all of the stops. It’s difficult for Charlie, because she can’t uproot Jack, but we’ll work out a schedule and find a way around that.

Has anyone offered you a record deal?
Pheobe: It’s too early to say anything! Hopefully there will be something good on the horizon, but we’ve got The X Factor live tour coming up, and we’ll see where we are after that… We just hope that Sony take us on and believe us.

Which of your fellow competitors will you keep in touch with?
Charlie: I think Raquelle and I will keep in touch with Rhydian. And Leah will too.
Emily: I’ll keep in touch with Leon.
Raquelle: No surprises there! We’re going to miss all of them but Rhydian really sticks out for us because he’s wonderful.

Who do you want to win now?
All: Rhydian!
Leah: We might call in and vote for him too! He deserves it!

It's good that they were positive and not bitter.

They need a bit of vocal coaching but I see a future for them.
