Default 18-21 a mistake by BB?

On launch nite I thought hmmm this could be a bit more interesting to watch than the normal BB (which I love watching)

Then highlights of day one I thought, this is fantastic! these guys have worked so hard and achieved so much for their age, I hope they will be a real inpiration to all the young people who watch BB and in the past have only seen the likes of Jade and Charlie etc etc

Now after watching the highlights tonight and some live feed I'm thinking.... I have not changed my thoughts from before, I think they are all fantastic and should be applauded for their achievements but being in an older age range I find it hard to relate to them and therefore will probably not watch the show as much as i normally would.

So, in one way it's great but in another, not. what are your thoughts?

I can see what you mean. I don't mind some oldish people going in but when you put senior citizens in they often just choose to leave.

I just think that having talented people would be nice, but having talented people aged 18 to 21 is even better, since they're young and it gives them enough exposure to begin their careers early, rather than a talented 34 year old. Plus, a bunch of good looking young people isn't something to complain about, right?

no way!
i love the fact there is no old people!
they are boring... (exception of carole)
but maybe with old people it would cause bitching and arguments because they might get on the younger peoples in the houses nerves

No it's not a mistake, it makes the format a way freshier and younger.

I think its a little early to tell if its a mistake or not. At the moment I think the age group is working well...and some of the housemates seem older than they are anyway or atleast they do to me.

I Don't Think So, I Mean There Could Still Be Big Brother Just Younger And Cooler!

I think that it's much better with the new 18-21 age range. It's alot more fun and exciting to watch and there's no older housemates like Carole (BB8) moaning at the rest about keeping the house tidy etc.

I think it's great having just the 18 - 21 age range, the fun is being put into Big Brother.

i think the age is more of a shock factor, i quite like how they are young because i wouldn't be as impressed if it was someone 25+ who was talented. Maybe BB thinks its lost the older viewers over the race row.. so market to younger people, probably not but worth a mention.

Yeah, I think younger people liven the house up better - having older people like Carole would make them feel like they were still living with their mum!
