Default Should bb5 contain couples

various papers have been reporting that 2 couples are entering the house next friday, what do you think.personally i have always liked the idea of the housemates not knowning each other, although couples could cause great conflict which is what i think they want this year

It might be a bit unfair for the sake of the competition, having a couple in there. A bit like Jade and Jeff on Back to Reality.

On the other hand the other HMs might nominate the couple to vote them out if they saw them as a threat, and the 'were playing the game'.

No I don't think couples should be in the BB house. They well might be inhibited in their behavour with other housemates when there partners are present.

There are enough relationships in tatters by some that have entered the BB house.
It would be a big strain and test on any reationship. i for one am not entertained by seeing people have there love lives blown apart by the pressures of the BB experience.

Oh, I think there should be... preferably with a couple of cheating partners, then Trisha can jump in and do her best attempt at giving an interview, hopefully being strangled and hidden in a cupboard somewhere for eternity. Alternatively, they could just ship her off to Channel 5/five/Channel Porn.

I'm not too keen on the idea of couple, partially for the reason mentioned - that it should be 10 strangers meeting in the house.

Also doesn't having couples increase the likeliness of tactical voting?

bananarama, you've got it. I tried watching it, I tried to like it, I looked for the remote control after about 3 minutes of extreme pain. So much so, I think I could have survived a 6 hour compilation of party political broadcasts in less distress.

It does if all the couples are "Swingers".

That could be interesting, particularly if they're in the final together... Davina gets another baby, anyone?

I'll duck now.

i would have to say no to this.

the reason being that it woudl mean that 2 contestants knew each other inside out, plus they have a sure base of support and could gang up on others.
Also it would be a safe vote and if they survived until the latter weeks they could quite easily read each others actions to see who they would be voting for, and in effect rig the vote

I voted yes, but then I was thinking more along the "ex-factor" content of USA BB4 where there weren't any couples actually still together, but several exes. To me, that was interesting because it made the dynamic of the house different from the politeness that normally happens!

No way. Keep to the original format.
As the saying goes " if it ain't broke don't fix it " (or something on those lines).
Last year they tried something new and it didn't work. The only good thing about last year was Mr Tickle.
The year before they were a lot of wannabe's.
Some made an impression but not a lasting one
So please let's have have a return to another Paul and Helen

I've voted no as well as I don't think it would be fair to have people who know each other in there at all.
