Jordan, Coleen and some of the unlikeliest celebs in the country are coming together for a TV rap competition, and no this isn’t an early April Fool.
Footballer Rio Ferdinand is putting together ‘Rap Idol’ as a fundraiser for anti-gun crime activities. Rio has his own television company and they’ve been busy recruiting some of the biggest names in showbiz. Celebs who’ve agreed to take part include Jimmy Carr, Naomi Campbell, Chris Moyles, Jordan, Amir Khan, Shane Richie and Coleen McLoughlin.
A source said: "Jimmy Carr performing Tupac Shakur tracks will be appointment viewing. All the stars are willing to give it their all to raise awareness of the growing gun crime problem in the UK. Rio and his TV firm held a brainstorming session last year for new telly projects. They had been trying to organise a footballers' rap show for a while but the hectic fixture list held them back."
Now Rio is after some celebrity judges to take part and top of his wish list are Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse.
