Amanda\'ll fix it
Quote:
TV bosses reckon Amanda Holden’s Got Talent — so she has been given her own Saturday night show.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge will front The Wish List, a Jim’ll Fix It style show for ITV1, made by Ant and Dec’s company.
The dreams-come-true format will see Amanda, 37, set up a series of money-can’t-buy experiences for members of the public.
An insider revealed last night: “Think Jim’ll Fix It meets Surprise Surprise. Each week Amanda will give people the chance to live out their dreams on TV.
“If you’ve ever wanted to sing with Take That or do a base jump into the Grand Canyon, she could make it happen. With the credit crunch tightening its grip people are in need of some feelgood TV. This will be just the tonic.
“And let’s face it, Amanda is bound to get choked up on cue — just like she does on Got Talent.”
The star will be assisted by three roving presenters who will go out and about with the people whose wishes are being granted. They have yet to be appointed.
The show will also give one member of the audience the chance to live out a dream live on air.
The show, made by Gallowgate Productions, will first air as a pilot later this year, with a full series planned later.
Some ITV insiders are talking about Amanda as “the new Cilla Black”. One said: “With Surprise Surprise Cilla became the queen of feelgood TV.
“Amanda is very much in pole position to take over that role — she’s a sucker for a sob story, as we’ve seen on Britain’s Got Talent.”
