FRIENDS predict Michelle Jubin could walk away as the winner of Big Brother.

The blonde 21-year-old, from Selkirk, known to pals as Shell, dreams of becoming a sculptor.

She's currently studying history of art at Glasgow University.

Last night, close pal Victoria Jones said Shell was very persuasive and charming and could work the house if she wanted to.

She added: 'She is beautiful, smart and funny and she can be the sweetest person.

'She can also wind people around her little finger. I really wouldn't be surprised if she wins.'

Asked why she had applied for the reality TV show, Shell said: 'To pay off my mum's mortgage and so my dad can see me on TV'.

English-born,she has a long-term boyfriend, Scott Hutchison, who studies at Glasgow School of Art. She has lived with mum Elsbeth and younger brother and sister, Ross and Kelsie,in Selkirk,in the Borders, for a decade.

Pal Victoria is rooting for her, but warned that her 'sweetness' could get on the public's nerves.

She said: 'They might find her a bit saccharine. She tries to please everyone but no one can do that. She is so innocent--looking but when she has a drink,she canbea riot.'

Shell had a summer job at Glasgow's Hunterian gallery and cooked and waitressed at the North Star cafe in the city's west end.

Her appearance on Big Brother has astounded many at the uni.

History of Art administrator Elaine Wilson said: 'I'm absolutely gobsmacked she's entering because she's sucha sweetie.'

Last night, her boyfriend's dad Ron Hutchison said: 'They have got agood,strong relationship.

'I think Michelle will be able to cope with the Big Brother house.She is a marvellous girl.'
