Brother Of Scots Punk Star Signs Up To Stop Druggy Singer Hitting The Skids Exclusive TROUBLED music star Amy Winehouse has turned to a Scottish pop fixer to help get her career back on track. The singer - who has hit the headlines with her drug and booze addiction - is being guided by Fife-born manager Michael Jobson. He was at Winehouse's side when she was summoned to a London police station to be questioned about allegedly headbutting a customer outside a pub earlier this month. Hewas also behind the 24-year-old's appearance at the 50th Grammy Awards when she scooped five gongs for songs from her hit album Back To Black. Winehouse had to perform live via satellite at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles as US officials had initially refused her a work visa to attend the event. Jobson, 45, goes to music business parties and event openings with the singer to keep a watchful eye on her. He has worked with a string of top pop acts, including the Beastie Boys, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Charlatans, through his company Michael Jobson Management Ltd. He is the brother of Richard Jobson, former lead singer of legendary Scottish punk rock group The Skids. Last week Winehouse angrily denied she had ditched husband Blake Fieldler Civil - who is in prison awaiting trial on charges of grievous bodily harm and conspiracy - to start a new life with lover Alex Haines. She is one of the richest young performers in the music business and has a personal fortune of around s10million. From behind bars, Fielder Civil has demanded at least s3million of her cash, claiming: "She would not be alive if it wasn't for me." Last night Jobson was tightlipped about his plans for the singer's future. He said: "The privacy of my artists is so important. My work with Amy is something I'd rather not talk about." |
