Big Brother Rex\'s girlfriend fears for own saftey
Big Brother Rex's girlfriend fears for own saftey
Quote:
Big Brother star Rex Newmark's girlfriend held her head in her hands as she watched bully Alex De-Gale issue vile threats aimed at her lover and his family.
Nicole Cammack, 19, stared in disbelief at her TV as Alex targeted Rex with the astonishing "gangsta" threats that got her kicked out of Big Brother.
Nicole today admits she was terrified by the aggressive tirade that rocked the TV house. But she says she is proud of Rex - her boyfriend for a year - for standing up to Alex.
In an exclusive Sunday Mirror interview, Nicole also reveals how Rex swept her off her feet with a string of extravagant romantic gestures. She tells how he:
Chatted her up at the Notting Hill Carnival before taking her out for romantic champagne meals;
Lit dozens of candles in his bedroom when they first made love at his dad's plush Hampstead home;
Drove her to Paris in a vintage Bentley; -Whisks her on dates on his Harley Davidson motorbike;
Arranged a £1,000 ice-sculpture of a Jimmy Choo shoe at Nicole's 19th birthday celebration.
"I watched Alex's threats with my mum," she says.
"They were obviously directed at Rex. He was the only housemate to stand up to her. I am so proud of him for that and the way he dealt with the situation."
Nicole, a drama student, admits she was shocked and scared by the outburst.
"It was horrible. I felt for his family but those threats were against me, too. Maybe she's jealous... if I bumped into Alex I'd be worried.
"I have some emergency numbers from Channel 4, but I haven't used them - yet."
Nicole added that she didn't feel threatened by ex-housemate Stephanie McMichael, 19, who openly flirted with Rex and has since admitted she fancies him.
"I have always felt totally secure in our relationship - so hands off Steph! He's my man!"
Rex, 24, first spotted Nicole, from Ashford, Middx, when he was the DJ for a party at his dad's restaurant, Beach Blanket Babylon, during Notting Hill Carnival in London.
Nicole said: "He was wearing white shorts, white vest and a white shirt with lots of 'bling' jewellery. I thought he was adorable."
The pair became an item and Rex went out of his way to shower his new girlfriend with treats. Nicole said: "On our second date he took me shopping - all the best designer shops like Harvey Nichols. He even bought me a Miu Miu handbag."
Nicole said the first time they made love was a month after they met, in Rex's bedroom at his father's £2million Georgian townhouse in London's posh Hampstead.
"Rex loves designer clothes and has a huge wardrobe. He had prepared the bedroom beautifully to make it extra special with dozens of candles. I wasn't a virgin when we met but he's older and more sexually experienced than me and he's very considerate."
Soon afterwards, Nicole found herself partying with celebrities including Tamara Beckwith, Tara Palmer Tomkinson, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon.
"They were all at a party at Beach Blanket Babylon - it was really glamorous. Tara was huge fun and we got on really well.
"One night we met Paul Gascoigne and a crowd of us ended up in his hotel room for a party. It's terrible to think what's happened to him now."
Two months after they met, Rex took Nicole to Paris in his dad's vintage Bentley.
Nicole said: "He had already organised trips to all the romantic locations.
We had dinner at the Moulin Rouge nightclub, went up the Eiffel Tower, visited the Louvre and went on a romantic cruise on the River Seine. It was perfect."
For Nicole's 19th birthday last year, Rex organised a special surprise party at his dad's restaurant.
He invited all her friends, telling them to come dressed in white and ordered a spectacular £1,000 ice sculpture of a high-heeled shoe. During the evening Rex presented her with a phone he had covered by hand in crystals to spell out a letter 'R'.
Nicole said: "It was the best birthday I've ever had."
Rex, who trained as a chef at London's Westminster Kingsway College, also romanced Nicole with home-cooked meals.
"He wants to be a TV chef - that's his goal and Big Brother will help him achieve that. My favourite dish is his steak with mustard mash, it's absolutely delicious." At Christmas he presented Nicole with a spectacular ring which she wears to remind her of him.
She said: "At first I thought it was an engagement ring - sadly it wasn't." When Rex decided to audition for Big Brother 9 he asked Nicole if she wanted to join him but she refused as she had exams.
"The last thing he said to me before he went into the BB house was, 'I love you, you will always be my princess'."
"We do love each other and there's so much we want to do together. We plan to go travelling, but he will want to concentrate on his career while I want to get into acting.
"I can't wait to see him again - but I'm sure he'll be in the house for a long time now that Alex is gone."
