Default Help Needed With Image Blends (I got PhotoShop!)

Yay! Okay, I now have Photoshop and am trying to blend two images with that. I've found a lot of tutorials but they only show the start and finish and leave out a lot of things in the middle. So could anyone please help me?

Here's what I have so far.

All I want to do is blend the two images together so there's no line.

Any help is much appreciated.

Overlap them on different layers.
Press the quick mask button in the layers box.
Use a gradient black to white and stretch across the edge of the image.
play around and it should blend.

Failing that, use a big soft eraser.

&I swear you can get photoshop cheaper :|

You need to erase around the sky line then put it next to the sea. Just look for a tutorial on blending. Theres loads.

Okay, I got all the way to the 3rd step. How do I add the gradient black to white?

where your colours are
if they're not black and white, press the small black+white boxes underneath
then if you can't find the gradient tool, right click the fill tool and click gradient.

Well, the easiest way is to get the eraser tool, change it to soft mode, make sure the brush is medium size, then paste the second image over the first slightly to one side. After that, erase the bits you don't want on the second image. Only takes a few seconds.

btw, you can get the latest version of Photoshop for Ł299 :s

Someone might. Lol.

If no one makes any requests I'll just delete it, so no worries.
