Default Todays Task

From a post of LEE's on our Articles thread

The Big Brother prize fund currently stands at £71,500. This week’s challenge could cost the housemates up to £15,000, but one housemate could gamble and save the lot.

This afternoon (Saturday) the housemates will be set their Saturday challenge. The group will choose one housemate to be the ‘selector’. The remaining housemates will be grouped in three pairs. The pairs will be determined by the selector who must pick names out of a bowl of fish guts.

For each pairing, one housemate will take part in an intellectual task and the other housemate will take part in a physical task.

In pairs, the housemates taking part in the physical task will be required to stand on the first step of the stairs Big Brother has erected in the garden, while their partner (taking part in the intellectual task) will be required to go to the diary room.

Each step represents a cash amount, starting at £1,000 and increasing to £5,000. The ‘intelligent’ housemate will have two minutes in the diary room to answer as many general knowledge questions correctly as they can. If the intelligent housemate gets a question right the housemate on the stairs will take a step up. But if they get a question wrong then the steps will suddenly go flat, sliding the ‘physical’ into a pool of fish guts.

When the two-minute time limit is up, the value of the step that the housemate is standing on will be the amount they will save from the prize fund.

When all three pairs have had their turn, the selector will be called to the diary room. Big Brother will not reveal how much has been saved, but in an added twist will offer the selector the opportunity to win back all the money the group has lost in the challenge. If they choose to gamble they must answer one general knowledge question. If they answer incorrectly the full £15,000 will deducted from the prize fund, but if they answer correctly the prize fund will remain at £71,500.

Here's what the Official Website says......

Saturday Task Announced

The housemates will lose a stash of cash - not to mention emerging rather smelly - if they don't perform in today's task.

This week the housemates face losing up to £15,000 from their prize fund, which currently stands at £71,500.

Housemates are to choose one housemate to be the 'selector.'

The selector will pick names out of a bowl of fish guts, which will determine three pairings of housemates for the main part of the task.

In each pair one housemate will take part in an intellectual task and the other housemate will take part in a physical task. The physical task will require them to stand on steps Big Brother has provided in the garden.

The first pair get into position - the intelligent housemate goes to the Diary Room and the physical housemate gets on to the bottom step of a staircase that Big Brother has provided in the garden.

Each step will represent a cash amount. The cash amounts start at £1,000 and works up to £5,000. Each intelligent housemate will have two minutes in the Diary Room to answer as many general knowledge questions correctly as they can.

If the intelligent housemate gets a question right the housemate on the stairs will step up. Get a question wrong and the steps will suddenly go flat sliding them into a pool of fish guts.

When the time is up, the step the housemate is standing on will be the amount they will save.

When all three pairs have had their turn, the selector will be called to the Diary Room. Big Brother will not reveal how much has been saved but will offer the selector the opportunity to win back all the money the group has lost in the challenge.

If they choose to gamble they must answer a general knowledge question. If they answer incorrectly £15,000 will be deducted from the prize fund, but if they answer correctly the prize fund will remain at £71,500.

Also, i heard a rumour that BB was to try and bribe a HM with £20,000 to fail this task. Does anyone know if this happened?

If it has happened the bribe could have taken place this morning. They were all called in turn into the diary room to talk to a psycho babble person.

The fact they all had a reason to go in and come out and then didn't need to say anything because such meetings are private. It is possible that BB after each interview tried to bribe one until successful.

I don't think the bribe happened. Although, if the E4 coverage was all you had to go on, I guess it might have? They don't show what happens in the Diary Room.
