Im sure there is some natural explanation for it. Its probably where a meteor hit millions of years ago, there is a whole bunch of these around the world I think its in Africa where there is one huge circle of these leading to caves miles deep.
But then again its too neat for it to be that. Weird

One of the explanation is where trees used to be and volano's have erupted and all of the ash and lava settles around the trees over years, and eventually it builds up and up, and the tree disintegrates leaving the hole. Looking at the pattern around the edges that sounds about right.
