The housemates have been left scratching their heads and wondering if Big Brother had an eviction trick in store for them this afternoon.

When presented with their empty suitcases this morning, the housemates began to fret that they were going to be surprised with an impromptu eviction.

So when just after lunch they were told to gather on the sofas and wait further instructions, they automatically assumed that one of them was about to get the boot.

When the sounds of screaming crowds began to boom into the House, they started to get more and more fidgety.

Eventually, Big Brother called for one housemate to go to the Diary Room. Stuart raced Michelle to the famous red chair, totally unaware that he was going to be locked in said room for an hour and ten minutes, while Big Brother said absolutely nothing.

When Big Brother then demanded that another housemate take a duvet and pillow to the Store Room, Michelle began to worry that her beloved chicken Stu would never be seen again, and set up camp outside the Diary Room door, cheek glued up against the glass, hoping to discover a clue as to what was going on.

"It's like a murder mystery," mumbled Dan.

Even more intriguing was the sudden arrival of two litres of semi-skimmed milk. "What do we associate with milk?" Shell wondered, possibly analysing the dairy produce more than Big Brother had actually intended.

Eventually Stuart was set free from the Diary Room.

"Nothing," he shrugged when the others crowded around to ask what was happening.

Curious.

Everyone's A Winner

Housemates have been revealing how they feel about their stay in the House and how they might feel if they won Big Brother.

So, how did Daniel sum up his time in the House? "A massive inconvenience," he said, haughtily.

"It's been a roller coaster ride of emotional car crashes. I'm ready for the outside world."

But surely he'd be delighted to win Big Brother? "I don't want to win it," he insisted.

Jason was typically succinct in his summing up his stay. "A roller coaster ride," was how he described it.

And how would he feel if he won it? "Chuffed," said the man of few words.

Nadia said her time had been, "Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun."

But as for winning she said, "Whatever happens, it's a bonus for me."

Stuart struggled to sum up how he felt, "Nine weeks of stuff, man. That's a lot of summing up. It has been an amazing experience."

And winning it would mean? "Again, I'd feel even more amazing like 'Whoaa!'"

Stu locked in Diary Room as Big Brother unnerves gang

Stuart has been locked in the Diary Room for more than an hour while Big Brother said nothing.

It appeared to be a successful attempt to unnerve the housemates as they anxiously await news of the eviction.

The gang have been expecting an impromptu eviction since being presented with their suitcases earlier in the day.

They began to fear a housemate was about to be booted out after lunch when Big Brother ordered them to the sofas to await further instructions.

The housemates became more fidgety as the sounds of screaming crowds was boomed into the house, reports the Channel 4 BB website.

After building up the tension to almost unbearable levels, Big Brother eventually asked for a housemate to go to the Diary Room.

Stu beat Michelle in the race to enter the room - but he failed to emerge for almost 70 minutes.

During this time, his anxious lover camped outside - becoming increasingly concerned that her beloved chicken would never be seen again.

"It's like a murder mystery," Dan commented.

Stu eventually appeared - but had no news for his fellow housemates who were gathered round to ask what was happening. "Nothing," was his reply.
