Default I\'m A Celeb 2008: First Information...

Below is an ITV press description of the first episode of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2008, which airs next Sunday between 9pm and 10pm on ITV1.

It's all pretty standard stuff, but I thought I should post it anyway

The award winning series is back with another bunch of celebrities preparing to leave their loved-ones and luxuries behind as they’re dumped in the middle of the Australian jungle with only the wildlife and each other for company.

TV’s toughest celebrity challenge returns for its eighth series and this time the boundaries will be pushed to the limit!

Cut off from the outside world in one of the cruellest environments on earth, the personalities have just basic food rations to survive on and will have to undergo petrifying and stomach-churning challenges to win supplies.

They will be filmed 24 hours a day and their antics can be seen on ITV1, ITV2, ITV.com and ITV Mobile. Their celebrity status will count for nothing as they battle it out to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.

This year the famous Bushtucker Trials are set to be the most terrifying yet and there will be plenty of new surprises to keep the celebrities on their toes every step of the way.

Faced with petrifying heights, unpalatable parts of animals to eat, underwater tasks and every kind of bug imaginable – the celebrities will have to prove they have what it takes to make it through the trials and take food back to the camp? And this year’s celebrities have an even more difficult task, as the producers have been working tirelessly to create unimaginable challenges that will push them to the very core!

Who will be the first to quit? Who will be pining for their loved ones and who will be the first to cry: “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!”

Ant and Dec are back presenting live from the jungle and keeping viewers up to date with all the latest gossip and news. As always, the fate of the jungle VIPs rests firmly in the hands of the British public.

Viewers will decide which celebrity will take on the dreaded Bushtucker Trials and who, ultimately, will win the coveted crown.

Executive producer Richard Cowles said: “We have a magnificent cast of celebrities in place but their trip to the jungle promises to be anything but a walk in the park. Each year, in a bid to test the celebrities, we develop new ways of pushing the boundaries and this series will push them further than ever before. We have bundles of surprises up our sleeves and some of the most gruelling Bushtucker Trials ever seen.”

ITV2 returns with I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here Now! presented by Matt & Emma Willis and Mark Durden-Smith. The show will feature extra footage and interviews with Matt & Emma in Australia and Mark in the UK. The show will air on ITV2 after the ITV1 show.

I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is made by ITV Productions for ITV. The Executive Producers are Richard Cowles, Beth Hart, Chris Brogden and Natalka Znak, the Series Editors are Becca Walker and Rachel Watson and the Series Producer is Marty Benson.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here…NOW! is made by ITV Productions for ITV2. The Executive Producer is Iain Coyle and the Series Producer is Julia Bennett.

I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! is sponsored by Iceland.

It will be the same boring show as usual, they are going to have to do some huge changes to make it entertaining
