New junglemates....... (Spoiler)
Quote:
New junglemates David Van Day and Timmy Mallett 'kidnapped' on arrival to I'm A Celebrity New I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out Of Here! contestants David Van Day and Timmy Mallett got a shock welcome to the Australian bush yesterday, when they were 'kidnapped' upon arrival.
Former Dollar frontman Van Day, 51, and children's TV presenter Mallett, 53, were walking to camp separately when they were caught in mantraps hidden in the ground.
Former Whackaday host Mallett was the first to be lifted off the floor after noticing a piece of cake on the floor, much to the amusement of Van Day, who arrived soon after.
Mallett said: 'You’ve got to help me. I feel like the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.'
Not realising the imminent danger he was in, Van Day said: 'I’ve seen everything now. You look good. How did you get up there?'
His questions were soon interrupted by a second net closing in around him and he was swooshed up off the jungle floor.
He shouted: '“I’ll get you Mallet, you prat.
'I came in thinking this was going to be easy. Listen, I wouldn’t have left you there.'
The two men were left hanging while a pair of men wearing balaclavas constructed two bamboo cages on the ground.
Mallett shouted to Van Day: '“That looks nice. You’re going to go into a cage.
'Oh, that’ll be my cage.'
Eighties pop star Van Day was unamused: 'I suppose they think this is funny.'
Meanwhile, Martina Navratilova was called to the Bush Telegraph to learn of Mallett and Van Day's plight.
Along with Polaroid photos of the pair, Navratilova was given instructions: 'There are two new campmates being held captive in the jungle. They will be in prison until morning.
'You have the ability to ease their situation but only if certain demands are met. Await further instruction.'
Later on, the camp got another note from the 'kidnappers': 'To make your captive campmates first night in the jungle you must pay a ransom. Give up one luxury item each and that means all of us and they will be given food tonight. Or they will go hungry.'
