Britney's a great mum, says her mum

The pair, who were once estranged at the height of Britney's very public breakdown, are close again as the singer enjoys renewed success.

Britney, who is to appear on the X Factor tomorrow night, is 'a wonderful mother', says Lynne.

She told GMTV via a satellite link: 'She's funny, she's extremely affectionate. At home, where there's nobody around she's very normal.'

Although Britney hasn't regained custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James – her sons from her marriage to Kevin Federline – she has been granted visitation rights and was recently allowed to take them out of California for the first time.

She currently in Europe, promoting her new album, Circus, and is scheduled to go on a world tour next year.

Lynne, who is promoting her book, Through the Storm, said she was delighted with Britney's recovery.

She said Britney had received a 'lot of love and care and help'.

She added: 'Sometimes you have to just settle down. You have to stop, think. And there's a lot of people that care about Britney and love Britney – and Britney's doing great now.'

Britney is still under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie, who has been granted control of her finances.
