Default Britney storms the X Factor... but was she miming?

Quote:
Britney storms the X Factor... but was she miming?
After four years absence from British television screens Britney Spears made a storming comeback on the X factor last night.

But those fans able to look past the skimpy PVC hotpants and fishnet stockings were left wondering whether the long-awaited performance was all that it seemed.

Indeed some fans were quickly debating on internet forums whether Britney had been miming the words to her new single Womanizer.

The pop princess' energetic dance routine did not seem to interrupt her vocals - which seemed near perfect.

This was despite apparent problems with her microphone, which she touched several times during the three-minute performance.

A spokeswoman for the X Factor production company insisted Britney had been singing, telling MailOnline: 'There were some live vocals, but that's a question for the record company.

But for those who have watched Britney go through a much-publicised breakdown, then make an astonishing return to form, perhaps it didn't matter.

Louis Walsh certainly wasn't worrying about Britney's vocals.

He was wide eyed as the 27-year-old bounded across the stage to a position next to the judge's table.

As she bounced up and down Louis broke into a large smile, perhaps appreciating the novelty of his front-row view of Britney's scantily clad derrieré.

After her performance a grinning Britney told presenter Dermot that appearing on the X Factor was 'awesome' and 'amazing'.

'I love being here in London,' she gushed.

Unlike guest stars Take That and Mariah Carey, Britney did not mentor the contestants ahead of last night's show.

And when pushed as to whether she had any advice for them she told Dermot: 'Good luck and just keep doing it!'

I think she did mime, but I don't care because she always puts on a show! She is a great performer, I think she may have lsot it a bit, but you can't really blame her after all that has happend to her, she will never be as good as she was, but I luv her, I think she is one of the best popstars out there.

In some parts it actually sounded different from the CD and sounded like a live vocal, I think she mimed half of it, but i dont care, I thought she was brilliant

definateley mimed, and not one judge either noticed at such a close distance or had the decency or self respect to acknowledge that.
Louis Walsh even complimenting the fraud live vocals... rather than just speak about what was actually real.
I dont expect judges to slate a guest but this show has lost its respect for me when Simon and his bunch of bone headed over rated judges sit there and expect the viewers to be fed over an hours worth of complete b*llsh*t, most of the contestants are below par is one thing, now we get miming coke snorters in the half time interval, what next Gary Glitter and a performance with a local school choir, the X Factor is a farce.

Chorus was definitely mimed because it sounded computerised and quite good in the studio. Its a shame they hyped it up so much to be a big let down though, even right down to asking her questions which she avoided.

I agree I mean if your going to mime you need to put on a big performance to justify it and she just diddn`t.It was like 4 dancers in black outfits jumping about and all she did was sway her hair around and shake her hips a bit.I was expecting ALOT more,it was just plain boring and like i said before cringey at times.I hated the black hot pants also, the whole thing was just so unadventurous like James Croydan (thats his name right) ,anyway the guest on the xtra factor got it spot on,the contestants were better than Britney.Ruth Lorenzo stole the show for me even though she was voted out I felt it was very much about Ruth last night, there seemed to be a great atmosphere.

You know I dont think it really matters if a perfomer sings the whole song live or not. In fact I think it would be pretty hard to sing the whole thing live with the key changes etc. I think she "performed" well which is what people want to see.

She didn't mime the whole song, she sang over a prerecorded track, some parts yes she might of mimed, but with a dance routine like hers its fairly hard to be able sing and dance. You can actually hear it in parts where she isn't miming.

try telling that to all the companies who by LAW have to carefully word avertising campaigns in order not to give out untrue or misleading content, it sure matters to them as they face hefty fines if they dont adhere to the standard we all expect as "customers" in this case viewers.

We were told in a huge hyped advertising campaign for the X Factor that Britney would be exclusively performing and singing live........... yet what we actually got was a mimed act that was performed in actual time, that to me is misleading information, and if rules apply to everyone else, it sure as hell matters to me whether others can get away with a basic law we ALL have to (execpt the X Factor) abide by.

Britney always mimes? What the heck made you think she wouldn't? I don't know why everyone has their panties in a twist when they knew she wouldn't sing live anyway. SHE DIDN'T EVEN FULLY MIME. She sings under pre-recorded vocals. Her whole routine had to be changed because of how small our stage is. Why don't you check out the routine she had for other performances this week? Ring of fire, human bowling etc they WERE performances. X Factor wasn't her best this week, but at least she put on a show like she's known for.

I personally didn't see her mess up her 'miming', and if she did I don't have a justified answer because she was fine on her other performances. Britney is a controversial performer and she sure filled her job description on this one.
