Default Virus help..

Okay, so my computer just randomly restarted itself, then I got a pop up saying I had this virus called "Win32 BackDoor" and it asked me if I wanted to enable protection.
Is this just something that redirects to a webpage for me to download the virus or do I actually already have it?

Please help

Get rid of Norton, (It is resource hungry and you have to pay for updates)

go for Avast, it is what I use or possibly AVG and go for the free versions, or the pro if you have money to burn

Once installed run a full boot scan

Do not go near that pop up site.

You may end up having to nuke your hard drive, i.e reformat and reinstall everything. Do not trust restore as viruses lurk there

Then once you have dealt with the virus if there using Avast or AVG, get the latest version of firefox and get the add on NoScript

I just went on the computer, and it still comes up on my user area, but not on anyone elses.
I also tried to use internet explorer and firefox on my area and they kept closing on mine, but on every other user account, it was fine.. so i don't get it. why just my user area?
