Gangsta\'s very nice
Quote:
Gangsta's very nice DAVINA McCall defended Coolio — just hours after TV watchdogs began a probe into the rapper’s “bullying”.
The Big Brother host admits the American is a “wind-up merchant” — but she refuses to believe he is a woman hater.
Davina, 41, said: “Where he comes from, they have a completely different way of speaking. Culturally, he is from a different sort of people.
“I don’t think he hates women at all. I think he has a great respect for certain types of women.
“He is judgmental about women, but Coolio is not alone in that.
“There are a lot of men in the world who think that if a woman wears a short skirt or wiggles her bum, or if she hangs out with a man, then that is inappropriate.”
Coolio, 45, who had a Grammy-winning hit with 1995 song Gangsta’s Paradise, has attracted criticism for his arrogance and for reducing Michelle Heaton to tears.
Telly watchdog Ofcom has started an inquiry after complaints — though Coolio has always denied he is a bully.
Davina did blast Ulrika Jonsson, claiming she is on the show only for her £175,000 fee — eight times the sum paid to stars such as Ben Adams.
The host said: “The house are finding her a bit bossy.
“My impression is she is doing this only for the money.”
Davina added that she believes mum-of-four Ulrika was “thinking of her kids” when she signed up.
