Tax scam, the world has heated up and cooled down naturaly thousands of times though out history. All of a sudden it is the end of the world because the global tempture rises 1 degree over 25 years..... we've gone though ice ages and global heat waves that lasted thousands of yeasr and are still here.

It is very real but the Government are using it to make the money out of the situation. There are simple policy changes they could put in place to reduce carbon emissions and that would save people money and save lives, i.e lowering the national speed limit by 10 mph.
Recently due the high cost of petrol (made worse by the government fuel duty) I have been driving my car at 60 mph rather than normal motor way speeds. What I have found instead of getting 39 mpg I now getting 45 mpg. Which means I can do an extra 6 miles for every gallon so on a 90 mile trip I'm producing 15% less carbon emissions than before. Also I have noticed by moving to the country my car on short trips is doing around 38 mpg rather than the 29 mpg I was getting in the city. |

Yeh I agree, its less to do with humans than they make us think. The reason the world is heating up is not our fault, we are just helping it go a little bit faster. There is no way we can stop the world from getting hotter or colder, its just the way the world works. There has been a mini ice age about 300-400 years ago when the thames froze over for a few years. It just happens and they should stop trying to take so much money out of innocent people for doing nothing.
Although, the problem with pollution is still something that needs to be worked on and it is helping speed the process along, plus pollution is bad for our health so even if its real or fake we should watch our carbon footprint. But it has been proven that this is natural and in fact... cows are making the global warming go faster than we are... their farts actually go above the level of pollution we give off. But they do fart alot lol. |

of course its a tax scam, this government are first class scammers.
you only need to notice this typical, wet British summer to know that nothing has changed. any chance of hiking up prices in the name of global warming and this gov jumps in. ![]() |

I'm no expert on the subject but I think it's possibly being overblown, Like other people have said the earth changes temperature by itself. I watched on a documentary that the earth goes through a cycle, It heats up, cools down and goes through an ice age and then back to normal before the pattern starts again. I think I might have missed stuff out but that was the gist of it I think.
I think it's probably overblown but the subject confuses me so i'm not sure if my opinion counts much. |

Then again... thinking about it a little bit. It is a tax scam at the fact we are trying to cut pollution down so much (Which we should be doing anyway for our own health) but the money could go towards future developments due to the causes of global warming. In a couple of hundred years the world is going to have to work together to create solutions to rising sea levels etc. Just because we havent caused it doesnt mean the effects arent going to happen, countries will get flooded and dissapear.
And the cost at building the largely commented on floating islands... well thats just insane and they will need our tax money, they shouldnt be spending it though. |

aha and here we go Im just gonna copy/paste basically for now
Like I said I agree that Global Warming is a fact but not that we are the cause or there is much significant we can do to stop global warming However Im all for cutting down on pollution, protecting the environment, and not wasting resources etc but for the right reasons, not so the Govt have a stick to beat us with. Do you see car manufacturers etc being coerced into making environmentally friendly cars etc? Not really because fast cars and huge jeeps mean big bucks! But theyll happily take more money off us for using them (when we have no other choice). Businesses dont recycle like we are and they produce the most waste....Our carbon emissions are a minute percentage of all emissions produced. Natural emissions are huge and some argue are increasing because the sun is getting hotter. But it suits to say its us causing it. |

There was a documentary on C4 with a compelling argument as to why our carbon emissions are not a cause of global warming aswell. I wish I remembered the name of it. The global warming swindle or something

Lol@this!
Apocalypse Then The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population. -- Reid Bryson, "Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man", (1971) The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s, the world will undergo famines. Hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now. Population control is the only answer -- Paul Ehrlich - The Population Bomb (1968) I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000 -- Paul Ehrlich in (1969) In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish. -- Paul Ehrlich, Earth Day (1970) Before 1985, mankind will enter a genuine age of scarcity . . in which the accessible supplies of many key minerals will be facing depletion -- Paul Ehrlich in (1976) This [cooling] trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century -- Peter Gwynne, Newsweek 1976 There are ominous signs that the earth's weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production - with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The drop in food production could begin quite soon... The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologist are hard-pressed to keep up with it. -- Newsweek, April 28, (1975) This cooling has already killed hundreds of thousands of people. If it continues and no strong action is taken, it will cause world famine, world chaos and world war, and this could all come about before the year 2000. -- Lowell Ponte "The Cooling", 1976 If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000...This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age. http://www.greatglobalwarmingswindle...ypse_then.html |

if you look back at graphs of the earth's mean temperature over god knows how long it is always going up and down in a pattern, and we're here now so i don't see what the mass panic is about
