The movie (and book) has a huge following, much bigger than Slumdog or High School Musical. It's pretty obvious if they give Twilight some or lots of awards, it'll just increase the interest. MTV will probably want to give awards out to the nominees that appeal to their audience.

High School Musical being nominated for any awards

Then again MTV's awards are hardly serious, They've got Fast and Furious nominated....

The tweens will be sure that it is dominated by Miley Virus, High School musical and Twilight (I liked it, it was good but It isn't an award film). Hopefully Dark Knight will sweep the awards it's nominated for.

I'm happy that Andy's hosting it, let's hope the rest of Lonely Island show up! Has anyone seen the award trailer's they've made on youtube? Hilarious. Look up Lonely Island's Youtube page.
